CLOSED: Sam's Club Sunny Day Snacks with Nature Valley (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Looking for a healthy 'munchie' to sustain your family on those trips out to the park, the beach or even just a trek out into the Nature Reserves? Well General Mills has just the snack you need with their Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix Granola bars.

In collaboration with My Blog Spark, General Mills sent us a Sam's Club Sunny Day Snacks pack that held
  • A stock up sized pack of Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix Granola bars (Fruit & Nut) and
  • A 25$ Sam's Club gift card

These 100% natural snack bars, made up of rolled oats are 25% richer in almonds, peanuts, raisins and cranberries and the wrappers do state that they hold no artificial preservatives whatsoever plus each bar is just 140 calories in whole.

Woo-hoo...Bring It On!

This is a hot favorite in our home. Hubby loves it, Mommy loves it and I relish every single morsel of it greedily. (I have to add that this is such a wholesome healthy 'munchie' especially when I've wanted to chomp on something right after nursing Bunny Boo.) The only one we're yet to convince to eat it happily is Bunny girl. The dried fruits seem to keep her away from taking a bite of the chewy bar!

If you frequent your local Sam's Club for deals on your groceries, you really should take a walk down to the snack aisle and pick up the stock up sized pack of Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix Granola bars they carry.

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win a Sam's Club Sunny Day Snacks pack that will include
  • A stock up sized pack of Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix Granola bars and
  • A 25$ Sam's Club gift card

Here's how you can win it:

1. Mandatory entry (without this, all other entries will be disqualified)-

Tell me which Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix pack you'd like to try.

CLOSED: Summer Infant's Rest Assured Sleeper (+ Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

If you're still figuring out what you need to get for your new baby and need more than just a little help in picking the right products, I would suggest you click on over to Summer Infant.
You will find "safe, sensible and quality products with the best features and the broadest range of selection for you and your baby".... a rich Mommy and Baby product line for choice!

I am totally pro co-sleeping. We've seen the benefits this has had with Bunny girl and without an inkling of doubt, knew that this was what we wanted to do with Bunny Boo. It was naturally a blessing when we were sent the Summer Infant Rest Assured Sleeper for review.

The Summer Infant Rest Assured Sleeper is, to put it simply, a mini bed for your infant that may be placed upon your bed to allow for safer co-sleeping. It's held together by a sturdy metal frame and surrounded by mesh netting to allow air circulation. The features only begin here..
  • It has a reticulated Aircare foam pad that allows for breathability
  • A removable washable pad
  • It's collapsible, making transportation and storage from room to room or while traveling easy.
  • The Summer Infant Rest Assured Sleeper even comes equipped with an electronics unit that plays 4 melodies, 2 nature sounds, 1 womb sound (Seriously!) and also has 2 levels of vibration to lull baby to sleep.
  • It also comes with a nightlight that can be adjusted to 5 intensities of light
  • It includes a 5 minute timer and
  • A pocket to hold diapers, wipes and other necessities you may require for baby during the night

I have to admit that we're yet to attach the electronics unit and try it out with Bunny Boo in the Sleeper (We don't want him to get dependent on needing music or a vibration to fall asleep) but even minus the same, once swaddled up and fed, he's all set for night-night!

I would definitely recommend getting one of these especially if you'd like to co-sleep with your precious little bundle!

Buy it:

You can buy the Summer Infant Rest Assured Sleeper exclusively from Babies R Us for 59.99 US$

Win it:

And now we are 4 !

Bunny Boo arrived into our lives this past Monday a little past 12.20 pm, weighing a good 8 lbs. By God's Grace I had a beautiful delivery, an awesome OBG, a great nurse and the best epidural ever!! (My first and boy, do I wish I got one when I had Bunny girl. It made the entire delivery experience such a beauty!)

Our little Prince has made our family complete and has filled his big sister's heart with so much joy. (You should see the way he stops crying to listen to her voice in the next room or even searches with his eyes when she hops into the room calling his name. Precious!)

I did mean to post pictures and the BIG NEWS the very next day when I got discharged but have been resting a bit this whole week and feel fresh and re-energized!

Thank you for all your prayers, support and love. God was in control from the beginning of Bunny Boo's conception till the moment he made his way out of my womb and into our arms. I have so much to testify but will leave that for a few future posts....God has been so good!

"Everyone shall stand in awe and confess the greatness of the miracles of God...they will realize what amazing things He does." - Psalm 64:9, TLB

P.S. The winners of the giveaways that ended last week will be announced along with this week's winners on Sunday. I have a ton of great stuff ahead so do keep reading!

Still here!

Quick note to let you all know I'm still here. Went in for my OBG check up this morning and all looks well. Yes I did hit full term today and my precious little Bunny Boo just looks too comfortable inside to want to come out anytime soon (accord to my Doc). So Monday early morning we will be going in to the hospital to get induced...please do keep us in prayer.
God has been so awesome .....
  • Have had a great pregnancy so far
  • Tests done and scans have looked good till date
  • Attended 4 awesome revival meetings in my church last week and boy has God been showing up in such beautiful ways! We've had testimonies of cancerous lumps melting away, spines straightened, diabetes healed....4 meetings filled with miracles and reports to confirm the same thereafter AND the biggest miracle of all....people giving their lives to the Lord!
  • Had my Mommy fly down safely and get here before our little Prince arrives.
  • Was able to attend Bunny girl's fabulous end of year preschool performance last evening. (Really didn't know my little girl had rhythm, spunk and confidence on stage. She was the cutest little frog and a bold little singer. Ofcourse the class sang Barney's closing song-I Love You! - so my little Madam sang that out with gusto!)
I'm sorry I haven't posted yesterday and today and do want to put up a few reviews and giveaways (I have to give you a heads up that there are some really great sponsors that have stuff to give my readers...Woohoo!) before I take a few days off with having Bunny Boo. (I will be back with more goodies once I spend some time with my little Bunny)

Do continue to keep up in prayer. God has been so faithful and we're continuing to trust Him for a great delivery and a healthy bonny little Bunny Boo to hold and love in our arms.

CLOSED:Cute as a Bug boutique (+50$ GC Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Though less than a year old, Celeste Graham's exclusively chic and absolutely adorable Canadian based boutique has won a special place in my heart. Cute as a Bug boutique has the cream when you're talking about kids and babies apparel.

For your newborn, you can choose from onesies, diaper covers, tutus, swimwear, shoes, socks, hats and what not!

(Mommies, you even have a tab with baby gear and musts that you can shop from.)

For your son you can choose from a variety of hoodies, jeans, pants, tops, tees and shorts. (Sizes 2-8 available)

If you have a daughter, be prepared to go crazy with the options you have to dress up your little Princess, with the hats, swimwear, special occasion dresses, outerwear, pettiskirts and more! (Sizes 2-8 available)

Bunny girl was sent a beautiful Hot Pink Knit Ruffle Dress which she plans to wear to church this evening and to pick up her Granny from the airport. The material is a soft cotton knit and though simple, the ruffled roses on the border and the pretty ruffled sleeves add elegance to the entire dress.

The pink dress is a beautiful dress but the one that took our breath away was the Red Flocked Dot Satin dress.

As soon as Bunny girl slipped this on, she twirled and danced all around the carpet and when asked to pause to allow me to take a picture she immediately plonked down onto the carpet and assumed a 'Princess Pose'.

This dress is, as I said, absolutely breathtaking! The picture on the site does no justice to it whatsoever!!

This is a cotton/polyester lined satin dress with a beautiful satin bow on the front and a tie up sash at the back. The glitter circles and the satin felt circles add to the grandeur of the dress. This is without a doubt, one of the prettiest dresses Bunny girl has had till date and I'm really hoping we have a very special occasion coming up to allow her to wear the same and feel just like a Princess in it!
(Quick heads up. This dress is presently on sale for half its original price and I think its a steal! Its available in sizes 2T-6x. Hurry to order one for your Princess)

I love the collection of goodies Celeste offers and sincerely hope she will expand her collection for boys as I'd love to pick up something as special as Bunny girl's treasured 'gown' for Bunny Boo.

Buy it:

You can buy the Red Flocked Dot Satin dress on sale for 24.99$(Original price: 54.99$) and the Hot Pink Knit Ruffle Dress for 42$.

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win a 50$ gift certificate that may be used towards anything on the Cute as a Bug boutique site.

Here's how you can win it:

1. Mandatory entry (without this, all other entries will be disqualified)-

Look through the Cute as a Bug boutique and tell me one product you'd use your gift certificate towards, if you won.

Six fun family vacation activites Bunny girl loves

When the forthcoming summer holidays come around Bunny girl has a few things on her mini list that she plans to do. Considering she's only 4, this mini list was generated as a result of some of her summer fun last year and prompted by the latest Twitter Moms and Williamsburg Tourism campaign. (Would you like to join in the campaign fun too? Just click this link to find out how you too can be a part of the fun 'Blog Vacation Activities Hop')

1. Shamu, here we come!

No vacation is ever complete without a visit to Sea World. Somehow my little Bunny refuses to tire of seeing the same shows, doing the same things at Sea World. Somehow Shamu (The killer whale), Clyde, Seymour (the sealions), Uncle Max (the walrus) and the dolphins are a must do on her list. Last year we clinched a great deal for an annual member ship. This year we're hoping to find a deal better than the 'buy a kids ticket for only 5$ when you buy an adult's ticket at regular price' especially as we know visiting Sea World just cannot be a once in a year pilgrimage for Bunny girl!

2. Enroll in the local reading programs

I guess you can't really consider this a vacation activity but in our family it's something that just has to be done with summer rolling in. Bunny girl is crazy about books and I'm just waiting for her to begin reading independently. Ever since she was 2, we'd enroll her into the local summer reading programs and she loved the little treats and fun events she'd get to attend as a result of completing the reading lists for that vacation.

3. Splish-Splash!

What vacation is ever complete without a dip in the pool! This summer we plan to enroll our little swimmer for swimming lessons. She can manage well in the water but I think as parents we'd prefer for her to undergo some professional training just so that our parental nerves can rest a bit!!

4. Pair education and fun even on a vacation.

Now that our preschooler is a little older she has begun to take an interest to 'learning trips' not just to vacations but also to nature parks and the zoo especially as she's crazy about animals and being outdoors. I just wish our local zoo was in town as I would have loved to put her in to the 'Animal Ambassador' program and allow her to interact with animals on a weekly basis and learn more about various creatures, both big and small.

5. Develop a new hobby/learning a new sport

I think this summer our little one is ready to learn an instrument (my heart's desire!) or learn a new sport (Hubby's heart's desire!). Most local communities organize sports camps and music camps to develop the interest for a new hobby/sport in young ones. I love that the fees are moderately priced to allow parents to enlist their little ones into the program and test out to see if they really have an aptitude for that particular hobby/instrument /sport. We'd really love for her to take up something she'd enjoy and not something we want her to enjoy.

6. Attend Vacation Bible School

This is something Bunny girl loves as she gets to learn fun songs, learn Bible stories, work on some great crafts and get to meet lots of new kids her age. This year as she's a little older, she will have the opportunity to attend a few more Vacation Bible Schools in our area. I just wish they had these spaced out over the summer and not just focussed in the month of June.

I can't wait for summer to roll in as this vacation will be packed with some fun activities and an additional bonus will be having Bunny Boo with us and my Mommy and Sister spending the summer with us. Yippee!!

CLOSED: Babies-The Movie (+15 Tickets Giveaway: 5 winners)

The Focus Feature movie everyone has been talking about was finally released this Mother's day in theaters all over the US. Babies is a one of a kind movie documentary following the lives of 4 precious babies in 4 different parts of the world- Africa, Japan, Mongolia and the US.

Thomas Balmès, the award-winning filmmaker, adapted the idea for this movie from the movie's producer Alain Chabat. This beautifully captured art documentary, introduces the viewer to Ponijao, Mari, Bayar and Hattie and takes the viewer on a journey through the 4 babies' lives right from infant-hood through till they take their first few independent steps as tots.

We watched the trailer to this movie when we'd taken Bunny girl to watch Disneynature's Oceans and Hubby and I immediately looked at each other and agreed that we had to watch this once it hit the theaters.
From the little that we did get to watch the one thing rang out loud and clear....Babies are the same all over the world. Irrespective of their environment, material haves and have nots, they will grow up to be healthy and possess strong, independent personalities of their own.

(I think this is a lesson we as parents in the land of plenty need to remember. Our little ones don't need everything available in the market to grow up to be strong individuals, physically or emotionally. It was a reminder to me especially as Bunny girl spent her 1st year back home in India and she never did have all that Bunny Boo has been blessed with in the form of gifts, baby gear etc but she has blossomed beautifully, by God's Grace.)

I can't wait till our tickets come through in the post. I've heard great things about this movie and I'm hoping our tickets do get here before Bunny Boo does else I may have to wait a bit to watch this.
(I'm posting this prior to actually watching the movie just in case Bunny Boo does arrive before the tickets do and I really do want my 5 winners to watch Babies while its hot, hot, hot in your local theaters!!)

Win it:

Johnson's is one of the movie's main sponsors and they've generously offered five readers the opportunity to win three tickets each (7.50 US$ value each) in movie cash form to view Focus Feature's latest release Babies
