CLOSED: Babies-The Movie (+15 Tickets Giveaway: 5 winners)

The Focus Feature movie everyone has been talking about was finally released this Mother's day in theaters all over the US. Babies is a one of a kind movie documentary following the lives of 4 precious babies in 4 different parts of the world- Africa, Japan, Mongolia and the US.

Thomas Balmès, the award-winning filmmaker, adapted the idea for this movie from the movie's producer Alain Chabat. This beautifully captured art documentary, introduces the viewer to Ponijao, Mari, Bayar and Hattie and takes the viewer on a journey through the 4 babies' lives right from infant-hood through till they take their first few independent steps as tots.

We watched the trailer to this movie when we'd taken Bunny girl to watch Disneynature's Oceans and Hubby and I immediately looked at each other and agreed that we had to watch this once it hit the theaters.
From the little that we did get to watch the one thing rang out loud and clear....Babies are the same all over the world. Irrespective of their environment, material haves and have nots, they will grow up to be healthy and possess strong, independent personalities of their own.

(I think this is a lesson we as parents in the land of plenty need to remember. Our little ones don't need everything available in the market to grow up to be strong individuals, physically or emotionally. It was a reminder to me especially as Bunny girl spent her 1st year back home in India and she never did have all that Bunny Boo has been blessed with in the form of gifts, baby gear etc but she has blossomed beautifully, by God's Grace.)

I can't wait till our tickets come through in the post. I've heard great things about this movie and I'm hoping our tickets do get here before Bunny Boo does else I may have to wait a bit to watch this.
(I'm posting this prior to actually watching the movie just in case Bunny Boo does arrive before the tickets do and I really do want my 5 winners to watch Babies while its hot, hot, hot in your local theaters!!)

I am, without a doubt, a Johnson's Mommy! I've trusted Johnson's baby products for the past 4 years on my Bunny girl and I continue to remain faithful to their shampoo and lotions till date.

September last year I published a detailed post on some of my favorite Johnson's products and the information is still accessible to all my readers. In this post I will highlight the products that weren't featured and yes...one of you can win a packed Tote of Johnson's Baby Musts for your precious little one.

My Johnson's stash is all set and awaiting being put to good use as soon as Bunny Boo arrives. I'm believing all the products will agree well on him and he, too, will follow his big sister and be a loyal Johnson's baby.

Scrub-a-dub-dub !

Johnson's No Tears formula shampoo is by far my favorite product of all and honestly I've not faced any issues with the product for the past 4 years. I know for a fast my sister and I were Johnson's shampoo kids too and we never struggled with having our hair washed.
This is soap free, hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested....and has this lovely fragrance that I always equate to Johnson's....Mmmm.

I will be honest, I'm not sure if I will use the Johnson's No More Tangles leave-in conditioner as I'm personally of the opinion that little ones don't really need to use all the products their Mommies and Daddies do, so for me a conditioner is not a necessity. (I don't even use a conditioner on Bunny girl....call me old fashioned, but then that's just me.)
But if you are open to using a conditioner on your child, Johnson's No More Tangles leave-in conditioner has been allergy tested and gentle in concentration for daily use.

Johnson's Moisture Baby Wash is a new product for me. It may be used on your infant instead of regular baby soap. It cleanses and gently moisturizes baby's skin to avoid dryness after a wash/bath.

And here's a child's favorite... one of Johnson's latest product inclusions that is clinically proven to be mild enough for daily use, Johnson's Baby Bubble Bath and Wash.
I don't know any child who doesn't love bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles. Poor Bunny girl has not enjoyed the extent of bubble baths as I'm apprehensive of having her soak in our apartment tub and she has now outgrown those plastic storage buckets (Yes we'd use that as her make-shift tub). Hopefully Bunny Boo will get to have some fun 'bubble bath' moments and with the Johnson's Baby Bubble Bath and Wash he can have not only have bathtime fun but also enjoy a good, 'no tears' body wash at the same time.

Massage time!

Johnson's baby oils are mild and great for daily use especially while giving baby a nice massage before a bath.

We've used Johnson's regular baby oil for Bunny girl and after a good massage followed by a nice warm bath and a nourishing feed after, she'd fall off into a good 2-3 hour slumber.

I have not tried the Oil Gels nor the Creamy Oils yet as they're newer products to the line.

Johnson's Baby Oil Gel with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E is said to soothe the skin and moisturize and condition it while the Shea and Cocoa butter gel additionally nourishes the skin. Both oil gels are dermatologist and allergy tested and apparently lock in 10 times more moisture in the skin, than a regular lotion.

Johnson's Baby Creamy Oil with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E and Johnson's Baby Creamy Oil with Cocoa and Shea butter performs a similar function but is non greasy and quickly absorbs into baby's skin. It is suggested that the Creamy oils not be used near baby's eyes.

Mmmm....smellin' good!

When I saw the talc box, I was surprised to read 'Pure Cornstarch with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E'...now that's a first for me. I never knew cornstarch properties have a moisture absorption function when used on the skin. (Wow! We all learn something new!) This baby powder is mild, dermatologist and allergy tested and is said to leave the skin feeling fresh yet not dry. This is not to be used on any area of baby's body that has broken skin, nor is it suggested to use the same on your little one's face.

Johnson's Baby Lotion is said to be the most gentle of all Johnson's baby lotions and creams. It is mild, made up of rich emollients, hypoallergenic and clinically tested to be safe for frequent daily use even on a newborn's skin.

The Johnson's Baby Lotion in all probability will be packed in your hospital 'care for baby' pack after you have your baby. This is an old favorite with many though my favorite Johnson's lotions continue to be the Aloe Vera and Vitamin E lotion and the Shea and Cocoa Butter lotion. I do think that I will have to add the Vanilla Oatmeal Lotion to my favorites list....I just love the fragrance and the smooth, non greasy feel to the skin after use.

Johnson's Baby Products-Review and Giveaway

This is one company I could talk about forever. Bunny girl could be their little promoter! Ever since she entered this world, the only product I have used on her is Johnson's. Somehow I could not think of using anything else when I knew I was to have a baby. I just trusted the brand....relied on the years of experience...banked on the testimonies of mothers of all ages around me. Now today I know this was one decision I will never regret. I just have to put it down for the record- I love Johnson's baby products!

There are 3 products I have been loyal to for the past 3 and a half years- the soap (we've now graduated to Johnson's Buddies!), the moisturizing lotion and the shampoo. Johnson's has a product portfolio that is rich with more products but these have been my favorites for Bunny girl.

I was so excited when I was asked to review a basket full of Johnson's products.....how ever could I turn this down?! What's more exciting is one of you will have the opportunity to win ALL the products you will read about below- Yippee!

Are you all set for your Johnson's Crash Course? Buckle up....here we go!

Desitin Maximum Strength is the product you need to grab off the shelf when your baby has one of those sore, itchy diaper rashes. The rub on paste is rich with zinc oxide which helps heal and soothe the inflamed area and brings relief overnight unlike other brands that take a day or two. Desitin is a Pediatrician recommended brand that generally retails at 5.49$ for a 4 oz tube.

All children are born with inbuilt sensors to love bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles! With Johnson's baby bubble bath and wash you can rest assured you are using a product that has not only been clinically tested extensively by Dermatologists but Pediatricians as well. With this product, not only can your little one have fun playing with the bubbles, but at the same time have a good wash. This is recommended for children as young as 6 months.
Suggested retail for 15 oz is 3.99$. (You can use this coupon to get 1$ off. )

Johnson's Head to Toe foaming wash acts like a soap rinse for your baby's bath. The wash is proven to be milder than soap and is great to use even on newborns. It can be used on your baby's body and hair. It's soap free, dye free and hypoallegenic.
This retails at a suggested price of 4.89$ for a 9 oz bottle.

I can vouch for the Johnson's baby shampoo any day. Bunny girl's hair has bonded with this shampoo especially since this is the only shampoo that gets lathered into her hair! I can confirm it is mild and washes out easily, leaving a lovely, fresh fragrance. The 'No Tears' formula is the best part about this product- no itchy eyes, no 'my eyes are burning' situations and ...no tears during the bath!!
Suggested retail for a 15 oz bottle is 3.29 $

I've not tried the Johnson's leave-in conditioner yet. Bunny girl has straight, silky hair which does not tangle terribly. A few light comb throughs and the tangles are out. This product is recommended to unlock stubborn knots and tangles in your little one's hair. It is said to leave your child's hair more manageable.
This retails for 3.49 $

When Bunny girl was a few days old, we'd use the Baby Oil for her pre-bath massages before we switched to using Olive Oil. At the time we didn't have the Baby Oil gels available. The gels are your moisturizing solution for your little one's skin right after a bath. Whether we accept it or not, our skin dries up and loses its moisture especially when we're in an air-conditioned environment. It's important to keep baby's skin well moisturized especially right after a bath. Plus a good bath and a nice moisturizing rub after will help your baby have a lovely, long nap.
My favorite from the 3 gels is the Shea and Cocoa Butter oil gel. It leaves the skin feeling 'baby soft'! (Yes it's a great moisturizer for you too!- wink!)
Baby Oil gel retails at 3.29$ for a 6.5 oz container.

Not all Moms use baby powder on their children. I am one of those Moms! I always stuck to the lotion and that's it. But if you do use baby powder on your child I would say Johnson's all the way! Not only is it gentle to the skin but it's mild for use on your baby. (It's also great to use to remove the sand off your feet just before stepping into the car after a day at the beach. Sprinkle the powder on your soles and voila the sand drops off!)
Johnson's Baby Powder generally retails at 3.29$ for 15 oz.

Johnson's baby lotion is the lotion I used for the first year of Bunny girl's life. (I later switched to using the bedtime lotion) This has always been a great moisturizer for her skin and I've loved the 'creamy' fragrance she has had once this was applied on the skin. The 'baby smell'! The lotion has never left an oily feel to her skin, instead it has always left her skin feeling soft and 'sponge'-y!
This Pediatrician recommended lotion is suggested to retail at 2.99$ for 15 oz.
The latest entrant to Johnson's baby product portfolio is Johnson's Head to Toe Fragrance free baby lotion. Introduced into the market in June 2009, this lotion is said to be mild enough to use on a baby's face. (I have used both lotions on Bunny girl's face and even as a baby, she has never had any skin reactions to the Johnson's lotions) This lotion is dye free, fragrance free and paraben free. (Paraben is a chemical used as a preservative in cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.) This also contains Vitamin E which is a great skin conditioner.

To me the product works well on Bunny girl's skin though the 'fragrance free' part of the product does not excite me as much as I miss the Johnson's lotion scent too much! It makes me think "Awww, where did the baby go?" when I smell Bunny girl. I guess I just the new 'fragrance free' scent just needs to grow on me.
A 15 oz bottle of Johnson's Head to Toe Fragrance free baby lotion is suggested to retail at 4.39$

Wow! That was a detailed crash course! I always feel it's better to bring all the facts to the table (and prices too) especially when it comes to baby products. You really should know what are the best products to use for your precious, delicate little one. I can affirm that Johnson's has not disappointed me yet and I sincerely hope you will be able to say the same once you try out their safe, gentle, baby friendly products.

You can access 1$ off coupons for some of the products mentioned above- save, save save!
