Energizer Bunny's Mommy Reports: December 2009

Dec 31, 2009

Having a problem with my blog.....hoping to have the issues resolved soon.....:( Happy New Year!!

2009 highlights.....Picture-iffic!

Pictures speak a thousand words and what better way to do a quick flashback, month by month, on the highlights of 2009, for our family?

All set to go down memory lane? I sure am!.......

January 2009

Bunny girl and I spent the start of the New Year with my Mom. We had a great time but did miss Hubby a lot especially as we also missed out on being with him for his birthday. Highlight of the month for both of us was coming back home.....it was a looooooong flight back but there's nothing like being a family.....Dada, Mama and Bunny girl!

February 2009

The month was relatively quiet except for the highlight of the month....our neighbor's 'male' dog had pups!!

March 2009

Ooooh we loved this month complete with our trip to Disney (and thus the beginning of a love for anything 'Princess')

My big highlight was the birth of 'Energizer Bunny's Mommy Reports'!! Remember my pilot post? We're actually 490 posts from then...Wow!

April 2009

April began with a month and a half long visit from Hubby's dad and sister. Bunny girl made the most of all the books in her library and Grandpa happily volunteered to read!

May 2009

In May we discovered Bunny girl's creative side and as the days have rolled by we've seen her drawings improve and thoroughly enjoy our little one's perspective on a whole lot of things.....just by looking at her art. Our little artist in the making!

During the month we also graduated from our baby cycle to a big girl's cycle with training wheels....woohoo!

June 2009

June's always fun as it's the month of Vacation Bible Schools....fun things to learn, snazzy songs to sing, exciting crafts to make and a time to just jump into the Word of God....the kiddies way! (and personally I feel the best way, many a time!)

In our spare time, Hubby taught Bunny girl to swim and I'm telling you she took to it like a fish to water...literally! No fear whatsoever!!

July 2009

July...a considerably quiet month...our only real highlight was the 4th of July parade and the fireworks later that night.

August 2009

August was a hard month for Hubby and self. We never thought the time would actually come for our 'baby' to go to school. Where did all that time go?

Yes we had our share of tears but mind you not a drop was shed by Bunny girl!! Thankfully she loves school and has been blessed with two of the sweetest teachers there could ever be.

September 2009

Aaaah....a very special month for our family. God answered Bunny girl's prayer (You really must read 'The prayer of a child' ....without a doubt, these are my favorite posts till date.) and

now we're a family of 4. (Even though our smallest member is yet to make an appearance into the outside world. )

October 2009

Another quiet month, Bunny girl's highlight was being able to meet the Care bears once again.

November 2009

I love November...everything about it.... and I guess in a way it's like a build up to my favorite month of all December!

In November, my mother came to visit and yes, we once again did the 'travel around' trips we did when Hubby's dad and sister were here.

We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving together and both Hubby and myself made sure we had a productive Black Friday shopping spree the next day!

December 2009

And finally the month I love the most...December. This year, unlike earlier ones, was comparatively more busy with the birthday parties (Bunny girl actually had 4 birthday parties to go to in just one weekend...that too 3 were classmates parties!), Christmas get-togethers, her first performance at school and visits to and from friends.

It was definitely a very memorable Christmas and in a way I think I'm trying to delay moving on to a new year by still leaving all our Christmas decos up! (Yes, yes...they shall come down....I hear you!)

When I sit back and reflect I'm filled with so much gratefulness for the year that was.
God has been gracious to our family and I can say today....looking back....that our family's cup overflowed this 2009 (Psalm 23:5) and yes surely goodness and mercy did follow us through the year. (Psalm 23:6)
We did have our share of downs but even through that God was faithful to bring us through those times. (Psalm 23:4)

2009 was great! I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in 2010!

CLOSED: Sid the Talkin' Science Kid Plush (R&G)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Bunny girl has a few tele-programs she loves watching. One hot favorite is PBS Kids educational show Sid the Science Kid.

Produced by Jim Henson Productions and KCET, this inquisitive but very lovable preschooler takes the viewer to his preschool class every morning and introduces the viewer to the whens, whats and whys there are in the surroundings and the world.

I remember when Bunny girl was initially a little apprehensive about going to Preschool for the first time, we watched a lot of Sid on PBS as I wanted her to see how her Preschool class could be as much fun as teacher Susie's class. By God's Grace her teachers are just as awesome as teacher Susie!!

Hence I was obviously excited to show Bunny girl the new Playskool Talking Plush replica of Sid when it arrived.

Each time you press cuddly Sid's belly he shouts out one of six of his famous phrases and I think by far our favorite is his "Sid the Science kid" echo.

Sid the Talkin' Science Kid Plush is suggested for children aged 3 years and older. Bunny girl is presently 3 years, 9 months old and though she had fun pressing Sid's belly for quite a while, I personally felt she was perhaps a little grown up for the talking plush.

What did grab her attention the longest though, was Sid's Sticker Chart episode on dvd that comes with the Plush. (Great idea to add the dvd as well!)

If you haven't introduced your preschooler to the Sid the Science kid series yet you're missing out on a fun world of learning...do check your local listings and tune in to have your child meet and learn with Sid and his buddies.

Likewear (Review + Discount Code)

It's simple...your child should wear what he/she likes!....and to fuel that drive, Lisa Gold developed a unique clothing line for kids, with the help of hubby Ken. Thus Likewear was born !

What makes Likewear stand out is the fact that its clothing products and accessories are only sold online from their site or from a handful of dedicated sales representatives around the country, thereby making the clothes not just exclusive but also unique.

Bunny girl was sent a comfortably wearable cute rainbow motif tee!

Did you noticed what the rainbow's made up of?

Take a closer look......

Tootsie Rolls!!

Likewear owns the official licensing for Trix, Tootsie Rolls, Wheaties, Cocoa Puffs, Honda and more. Makes sense when you read the slogan 'wear what you like' now, right? (Hmmm.....I'd definitely wear a Honey Nut Cheerio tee!)

I love that the product you like is not just plastered onto a tee, hoodie or accessory but is creatively designed to look hip enough to wear the same. Take a look at some of Likewear's popular images. (These can be applied onto any apparel or accessory of choice from the site)

Exclusive readers offer

Browse through the Likewear site and see if there's something you like. There are some specials that are on sale, baby wear, stuff for the 'guys' and 'gals' at home and fun looking bags.

Likewear is offering all my readers a 10% off on any purchase if you use this exclusive code- ENERGIZERBUNNY- when you checkout. Apply the code in the Coupon/Discount number box and you will get 10% off on any purchase till January 31 2010.

Wordless Wednesday- Bunny girl's 1st Christmas in the US

Was going through the folders on our computer and found pictures from Bunny girl's 1st Christmas in the US, 2 years ago.

Old photographs are so precious......actually priceless would be a more appropriate word!

My then 21 month year old felt it necessary to follow me all through the house, 'helping' me put up the decos.

Through her baby babble she made it clear that we needed to put a 'Kissmass bow' on her playhouse as well.

And it was a necessity to arrange and rearrange the Christmas decos that were reachable, on a daily basis....on the comfort of a nice firm cushion!

Aah....memories! .....Priceless!!

Come add your Wordless Wednesday moments on 5 Minutes for Mom.

CLOSED: Moon Costumes (R&G)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

With a new year quickly creeping in, I'm sure there will be a whole bunch of birthday parties your little one will have to attend. What would you do if he/she comes home from school with an invite for a costume party and it's in April....where would you run to look for costumes? The costume he/she wore in October has a hole or two and has become a size too small.....panic mode? Nope! Click over to Moon Costumes!! They actually have over 10,000 costumes for kids, adults and even your pets 365 days of the year. You don't have to go store hopping, you can just click through the site, pick what you want and have it delivered to your doorstep without any sweat on your brow!

Bunny girl was invited for a costume party earlier this month and she sweetly said she'd dress up as Tinkerbell using her 'purple' wings that my Mom had got for her. We don't dress up and celebrate Halloween so we didn't have any costumes at home....thankfully I stumbled upon Moon Costumes and best of all they had a Cinderella costume I knew she'd love.

Picking a costume was hard. The options were many and I wasn't sure about the sizes but Erik helped me pick something we could use for Bunny girl even months after the party was over. Not only was he generous enough to send her the costume, as a review, but also offered one of my readers their choice of ANY costume on the site, as long as it was priced below 70 US$ and boy there's a whole selection you can pick from with that limit!

Bunny girl could not believe her eyes when we opened up the package 2 days before the party. The costume is very pretty with a Cinderella broach, princess puffs and bows in all the right places and it even comes with a matching hairband and cloth neckband-lace!

Bunny girl immediately got into 'Princess mode' once we slipped the outfit on for her to try.....she twirled and sashayed around the room, spoke with her gentle high pitched Princess voice and got into character in a blink of an eye. That reaction was so worth it all!

The Cinderella costume was much bigger than the size she generally wears but I preferred getting her a bigger size than something she'd outgrow in a month or so. We did our little alterations on the shoulders and waist and left the length long.

I wish you could've seen her at the party....she floated around regally and loved that she could pay dress up with her friends.

The satin costume was comfortable and very wearable and best of all she can wear it atleast for another year or so! (Thankfully she didn't get any stains on the outfit else it would need to go in for a suggested dry clean.)

Buy it:

You can buy a Cinderella Disney Deluxe Child Costume(4-6X) for a reduced price of 43.95 US$

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win one Moon Costume of choice, as long as it is priced below 70 US$. The costume may be for your child, yourself or a pet!
