What happens when a vegetarian and active social environmentalist becomes pregnant with her first child in 1999?......
She decides to develop a totally radical new line of 'baby musts' under her brand Kidbean, to cater to the needs of other parents just like her.

Why did Melissa Zenz do this?

Simply because the market just didn't have any products that were environment friendly, labor friendly and vegan.
(A vegan product is one that is not animal derived. Materials like silk, wool, leather, honey, lanolin, beeswax are not used nor is anything that is animal derived, used during the manufacturing process. Products that are animal tested are also not used.)

Today the Kidbean line includes a growing collection of bath and body care products, bedding, clothing, footwear and even furniture. Everything is 100% organic.

When Bunny girl was a baby we only used cloth nappies for her while at home. No they didn't have the fancy snaps on them, they were just a regular square shaped white cotton piece of cloth that was folded into a triangle and then held together in the middle with a knot.

Yes, it was a lot more work to get these washed every day and to ensure we didn't have to scrub out loaded diapers, we'd placed cloth liners made from my aunt's old cotton saris (An Indian dress made from yards of cloth that is then draped around one's body) and all we'd do is throw out the soiled 'pooped on' liner and wash the still clean cotton nappy.

I've seen the benefit of using cloth diapers.
Not only are cloth diapers healthier for your baby but guess what.....NO diaper rash!!

Bunny Boo was kindly sent a more modern and parent friendly version of what Bunny girl has worn has a baby.....a Baby Greens organic cotton fitted diaper

and a pack of Baby Greens organic cotton day doublers (6 pack)

The Baby Greens organic cotton fitted diaper is made from soft, pure US grown, organic cotton fleece knit with unbleached cotton thread, natural rubber elastic and non PVC snaps.

It's a one size fits all diaper that can be worn by a 5 lbs baby till he/she grows to weigh upto 35 lbs. Since this is made up of two parts, you need to ensure your baby wears his/her diaper appropriate to his/her size.

For a 5-10lb baby, use the contour alone. (This has an umbilical cord cut out to ensure baby's comfort.)

For a 10-18 lbs baby, use the fitted diaper alone and ensure you fold the front down.

For an 18-35 lbs child, use the fitted diaper with the contour and leave the front unfolded.

To make sure your cloth diapers last long, follow these handy instructions.

The Baby Greens organic cotton day doublers (6 pack) is made from 3 layers of soft, pure US grown, organic cotton fleece knit. (Now that's great padding to absorb the 'necessary'!) A single doubler is 4" x 13" in dimension and is hour glass shaped to fit precisely into most cloth diapers. (No pop outs!)

Many Moms are opting to go 'cloth' nowadays. It's a lot more work (in terms of washing all those cloth diapers) but this is one sacrifice you will not regret making, months down the line. (Plus in the long run the savings in using cloth versus disposable are very significant.)
