CLOSED: Creativity for kids: Coloring and ARTivity books (+ Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Creativity for Kids continues to churn out fun projects to engage and stimulate young minds. I'm a big Creativity for Kids fan as Bunny girl has had such fun working on their sets. (Click on this link to view earlier Creativity for Kids' posts) The latest inclusion to their portfolio of fun projects are their Coloring and ARTivity books.

We picked the Pretty Princesses Book for Princess Bunny girl and since she's at that age of enjoying quiet time alone with a coloring or activity book, this was happily received.

This 8 x 8" book is paged with Heavy Duty Art Paper and includes 20 stickers for an activity or two, in the book.

Activities in this 20 page book includes linking numbered dots to complete a picture, finding hidden crowns and shapes, identifying triplets and twins, picking out things in a picture that just don't look right, matching pairs and lots more.

I think Bunny girl enjoyed the fact that she had to color the picture with the Faber Castell goodies she was also sent (A pack of Faber-Castell 12-count Jumbo Triangular Colored EcoPencils and 12-count Jumbo Triangular Crayons) , before attempting the activity for that page.

The Coloring and ARTivity books line includes 18 titles and each title is differently themed. So you can be assured of finding something your little munchkin will love!

Buy it:

You can buy the Pretty Princesses Book for 4.99 US$. (Each title is priced differently. Prices range from 3.99-6.99 US$)

CLOSED:Creativity for Kid's Stocking Kit (Festive R&G)

We all remember Creativity for Kids and the great creativity projects and kits they feature. (Here's an earlier post introducing Creativity for Kids and their fun Animal Puppet Kit) To celebrate the Christmas season, they've come out with this great Festive Felt Stocking kit.

Even though the box says the project is best suited for kids 5 years and older, I believe they meant the project can be done by a 5 year old without any help. You can still get this project for your younger ones as I know Bunny girl had such a great time doing her stockings and she's 3 years 8 months old.

The kit comes with:
  • 2 stockings- one for your child and a smaller one for your child's pet or doll. (Bunny girl made the little one for her dolly Gabriella)-11 x 14.5" and 3.5 x 5.25"
  • 4 sheets of felt shapes in the colors green, red and white
  • 4 mini sheets of little stick on 'jewels'
  • A tube of silver glitter glue and
  • A sheet with instructions

Bunny girl only needed a little help to align her snowman's head, his carrot nose and a snowflake or two. She designed the rest of her stocking by herself and I think she did a 'frosteriffic' job!!

She also wrote her name in pencil on the white stocking area at the top and I traced over it with the silver glitter glue. It looks awesome!!

CLOSED: Creativity for Kids Review and Giveaway

The winner's name has been announced on this post.

1976 marked an important milestone in Phylis Brody and Evelyn Greenwald's lives. Their dream 'to bring open ended creative activities into the hands of children all over the world', finally became a reality- Creativity for Kids was born. Based out of Cleaveland, Ohio this unique company distributes its products to over 35 countries around the globe. A tiny seed has now become a mighty stimulant tree to encourage an important trait in children-Creativity!

I generally don't share the mission statement of all the companies I review but I just had to share Creativity for Kids' mission statement pulling out the 3 statements that won my heart: "Children are important to us" "Children deserve our best" "Children inspire us" . It's no wonder that in 1999, the name we associate to art supplies-Faber Castell- saw it fitting to include this innovative company under it's giant umbrella. It was easy to associate Creativity for Kids with this giant. They both served for a united purpose- to bring growth in the lives of children.

If you love doing little projects with your child, this is one site you really need to explore. You will find 22 pages of fun, creative activities you can do with a younger child or activities your older children can do proudly on their own.

Bunny girl was sent the Make your own Animal Puppets kit. I loved the suggested age range specified on the box: 3-93!!

The kit came with fool proof instructions and all the little accessories that are needed to make your little puppet animals. The kits held an ash colored sock, pink sock and a white sock. Bunny girl initially wanted to do the flamingo but I decided we'd have to opt for the pig instead as the attachable 'hair' gear had fibers coming off (and you know how picky I am about that!)

Less than half an hour later, after spending up a little tank of imagination and with a little help Bunny girl made her very own set of animal puppets.

Now aren't these the cutest? Introducing Porky the pig, Zeeby the zebra and Mimi the mouse!! For the next hour, she insisted on wearing Zeeby and Mimi and doing everything (including drinking a glass of water)with them on her hands! Finally I had to ask her to get her 2 'little helpers' off as I wanted to save the puppets to use during story time for the kids in my preschool class at church.

I know wearing the puppets she made brought Bunny girl an immense sense of accomplishment and joy. You should have seen the way she showed Hubby her creative accomplishment when he came home from work later that evening...it was priceless!

Speaking on this kit, I can vouch that it's a project that is easy for a 3 year old child to do all by herself/himself. You may need to help pull out the accessories from the sheets and help sew in the hair pom pom (with a plastic needle provided) but that's about it. I honestly can't wait to try out some more kits!

Buy it:

You can buy Creativity for Kids kits and products from their online store or in a store close to you. They have a few kits and products on sale as well.
