CLOSED: A Father's Day prezzie for the New Daddy (A Baby Everywhere Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Having a new baby in the house is exciting but at times a little worrying for new parents especially if, God forbid, an emergency situation arises and you need to do something to help your little one till you get help or help arrives. Florence Weiner decided she'd do something to help equip new parents (and experienced parents) to deal with emergency situations with the launch of Baby Everywhere.

Baby Everywhere's design team asked professionals – pediatricians, ER doctors, nurses, paramedics, firefighters and police officers – what they wanted parents to know and how they could keep their own children safe. The design team then created beautiful, affordably-priced products that can be used anywhere the baby is – at home, in a car, with the babysitter and at grandma’s home.

With Father's Day coming up in less than two weeks time, I thought it would be apt to feature the Baby Everywhere Dad Diaper Bag for new Daddies, experienced Daddies and Daddies to be. What better gift can you give the father of your child than the gift of training him to be equipped to handle and deal with an emergency?

The Baby Everywhere Dad Diaper Bag is a very practical black 600 denier, wipe-able, microfiber, messenger bag that can be used by Daddy with pride. (After baby grows a little older, Daddy can even use the bag to carry books, papers or even a Notebook/Laptop without worrying about the fact that he is actually carrying a diaper bag! Believe me nobody will know any better?)

The bag comes equipped with
  • A 50-page book titled "Keeping Your Baby Safe” (This provides must-have information to protect a baby at home, in a car and in an emergency in English or Spanish.)
  • A soft fleece blanket (20 inches x 33 inches).
  • An insulated Thinsulate zippered compartment that will keep baby’s bottle or a jar of food cold for five hours.
  • A changing pad
  • A zippered pouch for diapers and
  • A first aid packet with sunscreen, antiseptic hand-wipes and plastic bandages.
It's a great bag to leave in Dad's car especially if he's taking the little one out to give you a shut eye or some time alone to refresh yourself.

I think Hubby liked the fact that the bag came with the "Keeping Your Baby Safe” book as it always helps to have some reading material that's not too bulky to keep your memory refreshed on what needs to be done in an emergency.

You will be encouraged to know that the Baby Everywhere Dad Diaper Bag is an specific recommendation by the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and at the price it's being sold, I think it's always better to be safe than sorry and have one of these on hand especially if you are expecting or have a little member in the family.
(Plus this makes a great Father's Day prezzie...Hint! Hint!
)

CLOSED: Staying Safe at Disney with Vital ID Bands (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

By God's Grace, Bunny Girl has never been one to wander off on her own while in public. Despite knowing she'd always stay by our side on our recent trip to Disney for the Disney Social Media Mom's Celebration, I didn't want to take any chances. Thanks to Sonya from Belly Charms, I was introduced to the Vital Id Wristbands.

I picked a pink Safety Identification Wristband for Bunny Girl, to match her pink jacket and because it looked like a fun accessory to wear, we didn't have any struggles getting her to put it on every morning and leave it on without any fiddling for the rest of the day.

The Safety Identification Wristband came in a packet with 2 ID tags highlighting the above necessary information.

Once we penned in the details, we simply had to slip the tag into a secret, hidden pocket on the band and velcro fasten the band around her wrist.

I loved that this Safety Identification Wristband :
  • Safely hid Bunny girl's name and other details away from public view
  • Is waterproof (and yes we did have a day splattered with showers while there)
  • Can be adjusted to suit the child's comfort on the wrist
  • Is re-useable
  • Is 100% Latex free and
  • Can be used till her wrist stays within the 6" circumference!
I think the tag is great for the suggested age range of 3 years plus only because the child is old enough to understand why he/she needs to wear the band and not remove the same while outdoors. Bunny girl was explained the importance of wearing the tag and in the unforeseen eventuality of not being able to find us, was told to walk up to a Disney Cast Member and show him/her her band and show them where her contact details were.

So we had 5 great days at Disney and the Safety Identification Wristband stayed on

while Bunny girl ran up to get autographs

posed near favorite spots

hugged the big 'M' and

even stayed on till bath time, back in the room!!

Sadly on our flight back home, I asked her where her band was and she told me she'd taken it off when we reached the airport and left it in the rental car as she thought the holiday was over and the band had to be given back.
(SOB!! ...and I'd planned to use the same for all future trips outdoors. Will just have to get another one now!)
