Bunny Boo celebrates his first Christmas this year and even though he's too young to understand what's happening around him, as parents we still think it's important to get him his very own Christmas prezzie but that's easier said than done. What can you get an infant that will grab his attention and not cost an arm and a leg to buy the same?

How about VTech Toys Winnie The Pooh Explore 'n' Learn Table?

Till I saw this toy 'in action' I didn't really believe it could entertain my now 5 month old.....

but I was wrong.

As soon as we set the Explore 'n' Learn Table on the floor and switched it on. Bunny Boo creeped as fast as he could (Yes he has begun to creep on his tummy...Yay!) to the toy and watched with amazement as the lights flashed around the A-B-C-D buttons.

After watching big sister Bunny girl press the buttons to activate Pooh's voice or music, he realized he could bring his toy 'to life' with just a thump with the palm of his hand.

The Winnie The Pooh Explore 'n' Learn Table is age suggestive for children in the age range of 6 months -36 months. It's a great toy to
  • Enhance fine motor skills
  • Teach a child their numbers from 1-4
  • Learn 5 Alphabets: A-E and their corresponding objects (Eg: B for Butterfly)
  • Learn 4 Shapes and
  • Identify 4 Colors
  • Teach a child to listen to an instruction and respond to a question by tapping on the right button
This can also be propped up to stand as a table.

The legs firmly snap into place and can only be removed if the clasps are held to release the same.

I think this is a nice feature but I would prefer to have Bunny Boo play with this on the floor even when he's older and can stand, only because the risk of the table slipping on our carpet and having him lose his balance and fall onto the same is a small possibility. (But then it's always better to be safe than sorry.)

What I do like doing though, is setting this up as a table, sitting on the floor and placing Bunny Boo on my lap to allow him to play with it at his level, without crouching forward (if he is being held up with support)

 Additional play features include
  • A spinning honeybee
  • A bouncing Tigger
  • A sliding Eeyore
  • A toddler grip sized, movable Pooh
  • Turning knobs
  • Sliding levers
  • A roller with pictures of Pooh and his friends on it and
  • A nice big mirror for your little one to peer into.
This is such an entertaining, learning toy for a baby, or even an early preschooler.
Consider putting this on your baby's Christmas prezzie list!

*Note: This toy works on 3 AA Batteries*

CLOSED: Vtech's MobiGo Touch Learning System Rocks! (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Vtech has swept the kids market with their education driven electronic learning products. I still remember the phonics game Bunny girl received from an Uncle when she just turned a year old and the Tote n Go Laptop she received as a three year old.

Over the years Vtech has been infusing the market with their quality learning aids for children and their latest jewel to their product crown only re-emphasizes their passion for making learning fun in a technologically challenging manner for our young ones. I was thrilled to find out Bunny girl would be receiving this even before the product hits the market on June 7 2010 and boy, does it get a big thumbs up from our tribe!

The MobiGo Touch Learning System is innovative, engaging and unique for children in the 3-8 age range. The sturdy handheld gaming console (very apt for a little one's use) comes with a slip out keyboard and employs touchscreen technology that intrigues the young user.

The MobiGo Touch Learning System holds 6 basic games in the provided game cartridge, each game can be played on two levels- easy or difficult.
The games not only egg the child to achieve higher scores but also teach fundamental learning concepts.

The games include
  • Space Challenge (Teaches the child the concepts of Number Sequence and Addition)
  • Fantastic Forest (Teaches the child the concepts of Lines and Shapes)
  • Shooting Gallery (Teaches the child the concepts of Alphabets, Vocabulary and Finding Letters on the Keyboard)
  • Wild Fun (Teaches the child the concepts of Observation by picking out the odd element in a given picture)
  • Music Maestro (Teaches the child the concepts of Music and Rhythm)
  • Ice Escape (Teaches the child the concepts of Problem Solving by maneuvering ice blocks and helping a little lost penguin find his way home and on the way feed his hungry little tummy)

The MobiGo Touch Learning System has been Bunny girl's first taste of 'touch screen' gaming and she's totally in love with it! The day we received the System it took me just a few minutes to explain to Bunny girl how it worked and after that my little Star took to it like a pro.

Ice Escape is by far Bunny girl's favorite game. She faithfully plays several rounds of the game on the difficult level, literally, morning, noon and night! The first time she played the game she managed to score 73 points and by the time she played the game the second time round, she'd already leaped to a score of 100.

You can also build on the gaming collection. Presently these 11 licensed cartridges are available for 19.99 US$
  • Ben 10
  • Disney Fairies
  • Dora the Explorer
  • Disney Princesses
  • Mr Men and Little Miss
  • Shrek
  • Disney/Pixar Cars
  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
  • NASCAR
  • Super Hero Squad
  • Disney/Pixar Toy Story 3
The MobiGo Touch Learning System is also web enabled, thereby allowing you to download additional games and content that can be personalized especially for your little one(s).

I definitely think this will make a great gift for a young child especially as its fun, educative and a quality way to keep your little one busy!
