Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Diamond Edition Review and Giveaway

It's here, it's here, it's finally here! The most awaited Disney re-release of all times......Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Diamond Edition. I still remember watching this Disney classic as a child with my sister on our VHS. I haven't forgotten the songs, the characters, the storyline.....nothing! It's still as fresh in my mind.

Snow White, the beautiful daughter of the King and stepdaughter to the jealous Queen, is a kindhearted, 'never hurt a fly', happy go lucky young girl. Unfortunately for her, her beauty has caused her to fall under the wrath of her wicked step mother and a sad turn of events causes her to flee to the forest to save her life. In the depths of the forest she finds a cozy little home- the residence to 7 dwarfs who warm up to her and welcome her to stay with them....away from the wicked step mother's clutches.

Will Snow White remain hidden forever or will a certain mirror whisper her whereabouts to the conniving queen? You must watch this timeless classic to find out!

I did a little search on the web and found some really interesting facts on the movie. Did you know that....

• Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was first released in the year 1937 (December 12, 1937, to be precise)?
• It is the first full length animated feature film produced in the US?
• It is the first full color film produced in the US?
• It is only one of two animated films (the other was Fantasia) to rank in the American Film Institute's list of 100 greatest American films of all time?
• The film grossed over 8 million US dollars internationally when it was first released in the year 1937?(Back then that was big time moolah!)

It's no wonder that Disney decided it was time to revive this movie with a bang!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Diamond Edition is a combo pack which holds a DVD version of the movie along with a Blu-Ray version. I know not all of us are really 'techno sound' with Blu-Ray, so here are a few features of a Blu-Ray player, in a lay man's terms:

• It has upto 6 times better viewing quality than a DVD
• 7.1 Surround Sound
• Immersive activity with games and special features
• Kid proof. i.e. The discs are more scratch resistant.
• Plays both Blu-Ray and DVD discs
• Blu-Ray discs can also play on Sony Playstation 3 players

Is there any difference in the 1937 version and the 2009 version of the film?

The storyline stays the same, the great songs (my favorite remains Heigh-Ho!) still feature and the characters are just as I remember them. The only big difference is the quality has been improved immensely- the images are crisper, clearer, more colorful and bright. Another big plus with the Diamond Edition is the inclusion of some great additions-
