Value For Money Dining at SeaWorld, San Antonio....Rosita's Cafe.

The Buzz:

To tie in the Sesame Street theme at the "BAY OF PLAY" (Read more about this fun new attraction, HERE), Sea World, San Antonio has opened up a fun, casual dining "re-fuel" stop called Rosita's Cafe.

Rosita's Cafe offers an "ALL YOU CAN EAT" pizza & pasta buffet that I personally think gives you most out of the buck you spend while dining at the park.

The kids pizza counter serves up freshly baked cheese and pepperoni pizzas

while adults can pick slices off three freshly baked, signature thin crusted pizzas.

Our choices for the day were a barbecue meat pizza, a regular meat pizza and a veggie pizza.

The pasta counter serves up regular mac and cheese (did I hear the kiddos cheer?) and a traditional sunny sweet, tomato based sauce with penne pasta.

Don't forget to grab an extra plate to pile up some fresh, crunchy green salad

with your choice of dressings

and ofcourse your choice of a drink (with unlimited refills while in the Cafe) from the counter.

And guess what? That's not all....
You even get dessert!!

This includes the signature thin crusted dessert pizza, vanilla pudding, chocolate pudding,

and fruit.

E.B. Mommy's Report:

If you've been to SeaWorld, San Antonio before you will recognize Rosita's Cafe location as the old Mango Joe's Cafe.

The location is great as it's just about a 5 minute walk away from the Bay Of Play.

Food-

Bunny girl loves pizzas and pasta so I know this will be our "Dining Stop" from this point on.

Between the pastas and the pizzas, I have to admit that we piled on the slices!

I'm personally not a big "meat" lover but loved the tangy barbecue-y kick on the barbecue pizza (I preferred to "donate" the mini sausage ringlets to Hubby) and the crunch on the veggie pizza.

Even if you aren't a big pizza or pasta kind of person, the salad will win you over.

I noticed I wasn't the only one returning to the salad counter to load my plate with the greens!

I honestly would've crammed every inch in my tummy with the salad but knew I had to leave a little space for dessert and I'm glad I did because I love anything with a hint of cinnamon. The dessert pizza is a crispy, cinnamon-y slice drizzled with chocolate and vanilla pudding...yum!

Don't tell anybody but the two slices Hubby had on his dessert plate were actually for me. Okay fine....I admit it! I DID wallop three slices!!

Value for Money-

Price-wise I think this is a great deal for what you can get inside the park!

An E.B. Mommy Tip-

My only suggestion is that you hit the Cafe early, if you want to beat the rush.

This new "Dining Spot" is already a park favorite with both the old

and the young!

SeaWorld San Antonio Steps It Up With Sesame Street "BAY OF PLAY"

Bunny girl wants us to move to San Antonio since forever.
Last December, a certain priceless encounter kicked that desire up by a notch....

and now after our recent Spring Break visit, she's 100% sure....we have to move closer to Sea World, San Antonio!

Why?
Because there's nothing more fun than having Shamu and Elmo at the SAME PLACE....

and oh yes, how can I forget lots of WATER PLAY?!!!

That's Right!
SeaWorld San Antonio
's latest 3 acre attraction- Sesame Street "BAY OF PLAY"- is now OPEN!!

The Buzz:

The Bay Of Play has so much happening. Your "one day" trips to Sea World are now history. Once your kids get to the park, they'll want to spend an entire day enjoying the fun at the Bay, so make sure you add an extra day to your trip to do the other shows and rides.

Finding the Bay Of Play is easy. As soon as you see Big Bird's footprints, you know you're at the right place!

Lets Play!

The attraction has a massive family playground for both young and old to enjoy.

The winding tunnels proved to be a big hit with the older kids

while the younger tots had a good time in the mini playground area designated for children under the age of 3.
(Just incase you find the older ones clambering around a little intimidating for your little ones)

The Bay Of Play also houses 4 fun rides:
  • Abby Cadabby's Rocking Wave
  • Elmo's Dolphin Dive
  • Big Bird's Spinning Reef and
  • Grover's Round Up (Our Family Favorite)

It was great to finally get on a carousel that our family could enjoy together! Hubby and Bunny girl saddled up on the horses while Bunny Boo and I sat in a carriage along with a Granny and her little grandbaby.

Splish Splash!

With Summer setting in, I foresee visitors of all ages hitting the "Water Play" areas in the Bay.

Even though the weather was pleasantly cool, that didn't stop kids from jumping to and from the 22 different water elements.

Fun! Fun! Fun!

Don't worry about the kids getting drenched.
Just carry an extra set of clothes to change them into once they've had their fill of "water fun".

SeaWorld has set up changing rooms right behind the "Splish Splash" zone

and if you're a nursing Mommy, just look out for the Nursing Stations located in the Diaper Changing Rooms between most restrooms.

I love that SeaWorld took the time to really address the needs of every visitor. As a Nursing Mommy this ranks highly on my list!

Lets Meet Elmo and the Gang.

If your child is a big Sesame Street fan, then the Bay Of Play experience will be absolute bliss for him/her.

Your child will get to watch an amazing 4D sesame Street Movie- Lights, Camera, Imagination featuring the entire Sesame Street cast.

This fun SeaWorld exclusive is an explosion of surprises. I won't say more as I'll spoil the surprises for you but let me just whisper out a teensy, weensy warning...."Watch out for those varmint!"
((Chuckle!)) ((Chuckle!!))

You can also watch the furry monsters live as they get ready to hit "Sesame Beach"

and no they aren't on a stage far, far away....

they're literally a handshake away. (The kids were beyond thrilled!)

After the show, your child will be able to hug their favorite Sesame Street characters and take photographs with them.

What's great is the characters stand spaced apart from each other so the lines aren't that long. Bunny girl and Bunny Boo got to hug, high five, laugh and pose with Elmo, Big Bird, Count, Zoe, Abby Cadabby, Rosita, Grover, Telly, Ernie, Bert and Cookie Monster. Now tell me where else can they have that experience without shelling out a pretty pile of buckaroos?

Oh and before you leave the Bay Of Play, make sure you stop to pick up a "Photo Souvenir" at 1-2-3 Smile.

Our family got to spend some one on one time with Elmo and Big Bird in the enclosed mini studio. Big Bird ribbed on Bunny girl while Elmo stood around trying make Bunny Boo smile while we took our pictures with Big Bird.

We ordered two 6x8 photographs (1 of our family with Elmo and the other with Big Bird) with the Sesame Street background for 19.99 US$. I thought this was a great way to remember the day by and price-wise it beat picking up a few plush toys that would be forgotten a few weeks down the line.

My family had a blast and I know yours will too. This is a great way to cool down this summer and have some great family "outdoorsy" fun and entertainment.
Thank You SeaWorld, San Antonio!

I've already labeled this as 2011's Hot Spot for families!

CLOSED: Shalom Sesame- DVDs 1 & 2 (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Israel is one place I'd love to visit and each time we read a story from the Bible, our desire to visit only builds up. Bunny girl has always asked so many questions about Israel that it only seemed fitting to introduce her to the place through the eyes of furry, wacky but lovable Grover from Sesame Street and his bubbly new buddy, celebrity presenter, Anneliese van der Pol.

Shalom Sesame is a twelve episode collection that will introduce the young viewer to the land of Israel, the rich Jewish culture, Hebrew letters, historic sites and beautiful traditions.

In Shalom Sesame dvd: Welcome to Israel Grover and Anneliese visit Israel, meet new friends and yes, even encounter flying falafels! (Which, if you haven't tried before, is a patty made from chickpeas and/or fava beans. I have to add that it is delicious with some hummus and pita bread...Mmmm!) while in Chanukah-The Missing Menorah, Anneliese encounters a problem. While playing tag with her chicken she loses her Menorah. (A Menorah has 9 branches and this is to celebrate the 8 days of Chanukah and the 9th is the Shamash, used to light the other eight candles.) All worry breaks loose as Chanukah is soon to begin. Grover is enlisted to help find the missing Menorah and the adventure begins!

I can't wait to view the other 10 releases next year. Trust Sesame Street to bring out another educative and unique collection. I hope this is only the beginning of more Countries and Cultures to come.

Note: Each October 5 2010 release from SISU Home Entertainment and Sesame Workshop has an approximate run time of 30 minutes and also includes bonus features like Grover's music videos and a peek into all 12 'Shalom Sesame' episodes.

Visit the Shalom Sesame website for more information and fun activities.
