International Playthings has toys and games for kids of every age, for every stage of their growing life. Bunny girl continues to enjoy playing the Who's Missing? -Calico Critters game and has even hooked her Granny onto the memory wave!

With summer having hit our State big time, I think it's always important to have a back up plan to outdoor play and thanks to a fun game I found on the International Playthings site, Bunny girl and her buddies can play this both indoors and outdoors.....RING TOSS!

This is suggested for kids 4 years and older and this is a very 'bruise-proof' game as the stakes are made of foam and the rings of soft rubber but mind you, not one of the pieces are flimsy.

Bunny girl is still practicing to get a 'Perfect 6' in a row. Her aim is improving and thankfully since she gets to play this indoors, does not tire easily!

She has also been re-arranging the stakes and base to give the game variety and thanks to my Mom being around, both have found other creative ways to use the 'rings' to think up new games.

Hop-scotch!

Arm-hula hopping!

Tennikoit!
(A game played outdoors with a rubber ring between 2 or more players, started in South India, in the 1960s)

I'm sure they'll find a few more games to play with this one kit and fortunately this is one game both Bunny girl and us adult folk at home enjoy playing.

CLOSED: Who's Missing'- A Calico Critters game (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

International Playthings has been servicing the 'kids games' market with a host of preschool educational games for the past 40 odd years. I love games for preschoolers that are challenging, educational, enjoyable and fun for even the grownups to play along and International Playthings sent us one such game.....'Who's Missing'- A Calico Critters game

(If you don't know what a
Calico Critter is, you really should hop over to their site and visit the Marmalade bears, the Norwood mice, the Cottontail rabbits and other adorable little animals and their families.)

Who's Missing' is a card game that can be played 3 different ways, thereby creating 3 whole new games. The 3 games you can play with your preschooler are
  1. Who's Missing? - A memory game.
  2. No more Critters- A game to see who can get rid of their cards the fastest.
  3. Calico Critter Rummy - A game to find 7 cards of the same number.

With Bunny girl, we've only played the 'Who's Missing?' game as she loves memory games and we felt it was just more appropriate for her age.

We initially start off with placing out 5 cards and after she has studied the same, we hide one away (while her eyes are closed) and ask her to name the missing card. As she gets better at this, we increase the number of cards to 6 cards.
We even play variances of the game. For instance, we may hide 2 cards and ask her to name both the missing cards.

It's a fun game to sharpen a child's memory recollection especially as he/she not only has to remember which Calico Critter was on the card but how many members in the family were featured on the card.

'Who's Missing'- The Calico Critters game is a 48 card pack and can be played by children as young as 3 years old. This is a great compact game to carry along on long flights and train journeys. I have to be honest that it is one game that both Hubby and I enjoy playing with Bunny girl and that we're yet to beat our little one's pile of 'guessed' cards!!
