When God placed an idea in Mandy Elmore's heart, she followed it out to execution but little did she realize that Blessing Banks would touch the lives of more people than she could have ever imagined.

The Buzz:

Blessing Banks are more than a gift; they are a lifelong lesson in the blessing of giving.

Based on the foundation of Acts 20:35b (‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’),

these symbolic reminders to be a blessing to others are available in handcrafted hardwood

hand-painted ceramic

hammered and silver-plated

or as Little Blessing Bags.

E.B. Mommy's Report:

The 30 day Giving Challenge our family undertook late last year has left a very tangible mark on our lives. We have personally experienced the joy of giving to those not as fortunate as us and at the same time seen how it has not just been a life changing lesson for Hubby and self but also for Bunny girl.

Thus at the start of this year, Hubby and I decided Bunny girl was finally mature enough to embark upon a new adventure....an adventure on managing her own financial resources.

Based on the book-Three Cups by Tony Townsley we've begun to give her a weekly allowance of 4 US$ (One Dollar for each year of her life).

She's saving 2$ in her blue Dino bank for her bank savings account (We've promised to take her to the bank to open a small account when the Dino's tummy is full!), 1$ in her pink Piggy bank to save to buy something special and

keeps aside 1$ in her 3.5" birch wood Blessing Bank, to give to Jesus.
(Bunny girl carries her dollar to church every Sunday and puts it into the offering. We've explained to her how the church uses the money to bless on those not as fortunate as us and to support missionaries who share the Love of Jesus around the world.)

I love the kids Blessing Banks. The handcrafted symbols of the Cross, the angel (on Bunny girl's) and the fish (on Bunny Boo's) symbolize to me Christ's desire for us to be vessels of His Love to those around us.

As a Mommy, it will always be my prayer that my children will be sensitive to the needs of those around them as they grow to be adults in this sometimes insensitive world,.
Hubby and I know we're starting Bunny girl young with her Blessing Bank, but we believe these life lessons are priceless investments of time and money that will help her become the wise, sensitive and generous woman God would want her to be.

Those banks are beautiful! And I love that you're teaching your daughter so early about the importance of tithing and managing money. :-)
