The Highchair I Heart! : Joovy Nook (Review Only)

Joovy is no stranger to the Energizer Bunny's Mommy Reports household. I'm sure you remember the Joovy Ergo Caboose and judging by the interest we had in the product, I was interested to explore yet another one of Joovy's products that has generated a lot of buzz...the Joovy Nook.


The Buzz:

This 15 lb, 43" tall highchair is, to put it simply, "Fantastic"!

The features include:

A Swing open tray that opens with one hand. The tray is removable and also has a dishwasher safe tray insert.


The high chair seat is made with top of the line, wipeable leatherette (color options: black or white) or high quality, machine washable fabric (color options: orange or green).


Your child is buckled in with a 5-Point Harness that is wipeable.


And finally, the high chair easily folds to a compact 9.5" height.

Bunny Boo was sent a white leatherette Joovy Nook mid November and now, two months later after having tested this out with every meal, I can say I am thrilled with this highchair.

I was initially very apprehensive with the white leatherette and had convinced myself that I'd end up with tan stains by the end of the first month itself. As if to put the seat to the test, Bunny Boo had a massive poop explosion after week 2, while in the pristine white chair and at the moment my heart sank. Thankfully Hubby was at home at the time and while he rescued my poop smothered infant, I hurried to rescue the beautiful leatherette. It took me a little while to tactfully remove the leatherette and the hoops attaching the same to the chair but once done, it just took a quick pressure wash under the garden hose, an overnight line dry and the seat looked as good as new....not a stain!


Sure the seat passed the poop stain test but what about the 'Master of All Baby Food Stains'-Carrot Puree?....Well, there hasn't been a single carrot puree stain I haven't been able to remove yet, so yes the Joovy Nook passes my Mommy Approval test with flying colors!


If I had to tell you why I thought this would be the best highchair to get for your infant I'd sum it up with this....

1. The Joovy Nook is easy to clean.

2. My wriggly Bunny Boo sits secure and comfortably when strapped in.

3. The tray is easy to wash and wipe down.

4. It can be used by Bunny Boo till he weighs 50 lbs (though I doubt I would actually keep seat him in this till then!)

5. The Joovy Nook is sturdy and definitely worth the investment and I'm sure it will look just as great even after being passed on and used by two or three more babies!

6. It's also easy to set up and fold in the requirement of storing it away when you have guests visiting or need to pack it in the car before a vacation.

7. Oh and I just had to add this too....the highchair does look sophisticated and elegant in the dining area, unlike many of the highchairs you see in the market
