This Christmas if you're looking for an engaging gift to give a tween in mind, Klutz books should be on your list of considerations. This 33 year old company was bought by Scholastic Inc. in the year 2002 and continues to stand faithful to their corporate mission statement- "Create wonderful things, be good, have fun."

I had the opportunity to go through two Klutz best sellers and wish Bunny girl was a few years older to enjoy the same in its entirety. I do know the tweens I'm passing these to, will enjoy the activities thoroughly.

Here's a peek into Klutz's Holiday Gift Guide...

Capsters is the ultimate introduction to this new form of pop art. To make a capster, take a bottle cap (included) and add a round piece of art (included), specially sized to fit neatly inside the cap. You might want to add a small charm (included) or perhaps some craft gems and glitter (included and included). Squirt some special goo (included) over your creation. Overnight the goo will dry into a super-shiny, clear, hard coating and — voila — you've got yourself a capster.
For ages 8 and up

I think this will be a fun way to get your tween to unleash his/her creativity and make a unique fashion statement that will 'cap'ture her personality and style. A Capster could be incorporated onto fashion accessories, binders, pencil boxes, mugs, baseball caps....the options are many!

Window Art features tried-and-true, ready-to-trace designs along with purple, turquoise, emerald green, yellow, and red window paint. Of course, you can stick your window art on a window, but you can also decorate a shower door, a mirror, or any other glass surface. If you change your mind about where you want your art, just peel it up and stick it down elsewhere. Every room in the house can have a terrific view!
For ages 8 and up

This is a fun activity even for kids as young as four and a half, with parental supervision. Bunny girl loves art and when in a mood, will patiently sit down and paint in the larger pictures beautifully. What's nice about this book is the decorations once painted can be peeled off and stuck on a glass surface of choice for a few days and then peeled off and stuck on another glass surface for the next few days.

Making Paper Airplanes doesn't feel like science. And it's not quite art. Near as we can figure, launching a regular old piece of paper into the sky so that it soars is pure magic. We present step-by-step instructions for folding aerobatic amazement's. The ten airplanes in this book are the best we've ever seen. This big (10" x 12") book comes complete with 40 sheets of flight-tested, ready-to-fold paper, printed on both sides in a variety of 20 colorful patterns, including leopard print, wood grain, hot rod flames and lose-it-on-the-lawn grass. It's everything you need to rule the skies.

For ages 7 and up

Headbands & Hairstyles has everything a girl needs to design, make, and wear headbands in her own personal style. This chic how-to book shows young designers how to wrap the band and then make and attach super-cute embellishments like bows, ruffles, and sequined flowers. All the supplies to make three uniquely beautiful headbands are provided, along with step-by-step instructions for five beautifully banded hairstyles. Fashion, craft, and beauty — all tied up in a ribbon.
For ages 8 and up
