CLOSED: 1 DAY OPEN GIVEAWAY ONLY! : Bugs Bunny Easter Funnies Dvd and The First Easter Bunny Dvd (2 winners- Unlimited Entries)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Warner Brothers has re-released 2 animated oldie-goldies this Spring - Bugs Bunny's Easter Funnies and The First Easter Rabbit. Both these classics first came out in the late 1970s and now they're back again to entertain.

Two of my readers will have the opportunity to win a pack containing both these dvds.

In Bugs Bunny's Easter Funnies, Granny gets the dreaded call that the Easter Bunny is ill and hurries to find a substitute Easter Bunny. Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang jump up to volunteer. Lo and behold, what unravels is a lot of 'looney madness' ! Who will fit the role the best?

Portions of legendary Looney Tunes cartoon shorts are cleverly mixed into the plot of this delightful special including Birds Anonymous, For Scent-imental Reasons, Knighty Knight Bugs, Sahara Hare, Robin Hood Daffy, Rabbit of Seville, Hillbilly Hare and Tweety’s Circus.

The dvd also includes 3 interactive Looney Tunes puzzles and an additional bonus feature episode- 'His Hare-Raising Tale'.

Viewing duration: Approximately 50 minutes

Buy it:

You can buy Bugs Bunny's Easter Funnies for a reduced price of 7.96 US$ (+ shipping) from the Warner Brothers online store.

The First Easter Rabbit is about a little girl's toy bunny called Stuffy who comes to life and hops his way down to Easter Valley to deliver baskets full of goodies to the kids there. Poor Stuffy, though, is in for some opposition when Zero, a mean ice character threatens to spoil the fun and bring the chills to all Stuffy's plans. Watch as Stuffy gets help from some unexpected sources!

Academy Award winner Burl Ives narrates this fanciful, tuneful and color-splashed animated tale of The First Easter Rabbit.

The dvd also includes 6 menu based puzzles for kids.

Viewing duration: Approximately 30 minutes.

Buy it:

You can buy The First Easter Rabbit for a reduced price of 7.96 US$ (+ shipping) from the Warner Brothers online store.

Between the two dvds we'd vote Bugs Bunny's Easter Funnies over The First Easter Rabbit only because there's just something about Bugsy that never fails to entertain and set us off!!
Both dvds reminded me of the cartoons we'd watch as kids....boy, animation sure has come such a long way today!

THE OPEN GIVEAWAY (Unlimited Entries!)

You can enter this ONE DAY giveaway as many times as you want to BUT you need to keep your comments totally Looney Tunes based.

(I know I had to make it hard but then I love Bugsy and adorable little Tweety!! You can talk about Bugs Bunny episodes you have watched, what you find cute about Tweety, the other crazy Looney Tunes characters....anything as long as its related to Bugs Bunny!)

* You can also send out unlimited tweets with this message and post the tweet links as a comment *

1) Does Wile ever Catch the Road Runner?
Well, in a 1980 made for TV short - "Soup or Sonic", directed by Chuck Jones, Wile E. does catch him.

However, he is only a couple of inches high, while Road Runner is full size, thanks to a gag involving a chase through a pipeline that gets narrower and narrower. After a minature Wile catches the full size Road Runner, he holds up a sign that says - "Okay, wise guys, you always wanted me to catch him. Now what do I do?" - the cartoon then ends.

Where did they ever come with that company name?
When Chuck Jones (the creator/director) was a kid he pretended that everything came from a fictional company called the ACME Corporation. So, for the cartoons he adored the idea that there was a company called ACME that made things specifically for coyotes.

Were any of the Road Runner cartoons ever nominated for an Academy Award?

Sure, the 1960 Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote cartoon called "Beep Prepared" was nominated for an Academy Award. However, it unfortunately did not win the prestigious award.

7). Who created the Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote characters?

Chuck Jones, who directed most of Road Runner cartoons, and writer Micheal Maltese created the pair. They were looking to create a parody of the classic chase films of that time - 1949. Their parody soon became bigger than they ever thought it would!

14). Who did those great background paintings for the Road Runner cartoons?
Those great desert backgrounds were first designed by Robert Gribbroek and painted by Peter Alvarado. But, after a few years they were designed by Maurice Noble and painted by Philip De Gaurd who began to make the scenes more abstract.

20). Did Wile ever appear in a cartoon without the Road Runner?

Yes he did, several in fact.
But, when he appeared with 'Sam the Sheepdog' he was known as 'Ralph Wolf' even though this is STILL Wile E. Coyote.

Carnivorous Vulgaris, Eatibus Anythingus, Eatius Birdius (Wiley Coyote)

I loved watching the Looney Tunes cartoons with my brothers when we were little. I loved Bugs Bunny the best and really believed my mom that eating carrots like Bugs did was good for my eyes. Don't let kiddies read this - no truth to that as I got my 1st pair of glasses in first grade. :-(

I'm just now realizing my love of the French language may go back as far as my early childhood when I first watched Looney Tunes' Pepe le Pew with his French accent. I loved that skunk! Too bad he looked for love from a black cat (Penelope Pussycat) that had a white stripe on her back from an accident with paint. I loved Pepe le Pew so much that years ago, I gave his name to my cat that was the negative image of him (that is, my cat was white with black stripe down his back). My Pepe le Pew was the BEST cat I've ever had.
