Planning a Fancy Nancy Tea Party

The latest Twitter Moms project involves books (Yay!) and involves the celebration of the launch of the Twitter Moms Reading Channel. (Books and Twitter Moms....count me in!)

To celebrate the big blogging program in collaboration with Harper Collins, they're egging Twitter Moms around the Blogosphere to come up with some fun tips in planning a Fancy Nancy tea party.
(Do you have any fun suggestions? Yes? Then why don't you hop on over to this post and add in your creative ideas to the mix.)

Here are my 'Lets Get Fancy' with Fancy Nancy tea party ideas, keeping in mind little girls around Bunny girl's age range (4yrs).....
  • I don't know any little girl who does not love 'dress up' and what better time to do it than at a Fancy Nancy Tea party? To kill time while waiting for the other guests to arrive, the little ones can go crazy with some 'fancy shmancy' dress up clothes, bling-blings and costume hats.
  • Once all the guests arrive, the little fancy-istas can work on bead crafts (Can pick up the materials from Michaels Arts and Crafts store or order online from the Oriental Trading Co) to make fun bracelets and necklaces to carry home in their mock velvet handbag goodie bags (which would be pre-made)
  • After crafts the girls could play a few games like :
  1. Musical Pass the Crown (Similar to passing the parcel but placing a paper or 'dress up' crown on one's head and then passing it onto the next person who'd place it on her head, take it off and then pass it on. The person with the crown on her head when the music stops would have to sit out.)
  2. Placing the crown on Fancy Nancy's Head (Similar to pinning the tail on the donkey except the tail would be the crown and the donkey would be a large blow up of our featured star Fancy Nancy herself!)
  3. Guessing the number of rings in a jar (The little ones would have to guess how many of those edible candy rings are placed in a glass jar)
  • By the time the games are through, I'm sure you'd have a bunch of famished Fancy Nancys! It would be fun to make sandwiches (Perhaps cheese?) and cut them in the shape of little crowns and serve chocolate covered strawberries (Who doesn't love these?), crown shaped cookies, cupcakes with white/pink frosting and silver dot sprinkles and instead of handing out juice boxes, pour out the juice into little kiddie teacups to give the 'la-dee-dah' touch !
  • While the 'little ladies' delicately munch on their 'delicacies' you can read a Fancy Nancy story or two.
You can get really creative and though the ideas are churning out by the minute, I think I need to rush and get myself some crushed ice in sweet tea!
