Remember the Little Skink's Tail? Well, Janet Halfmann has a new feather to add to her lovely 'learning series for preschoolers' hat with Little Black Ant on Park Street.

This book is yet another 'must get' from the Soundprints Smithsonian Backyard Collection as Janet has such a wonderful coaxing way of encouraging the reader to appreciate and marvel the mundane little ant that we so often tend to just overlook.

Little Black Ant on Park Street tells the story of a little Ant's adventures from leaving the ant nest to look for food to an encounter with a 'food thief' and a journey through the skies, hidden in a silvery gum wrapper in a bird's beak!

The 32 paged book takes the young reader on a quick journey through a season in the Little Black Ant's life and once again I can vouch that I learnt just as much about a little ant as Bunny girl did when we sat down to read the book together.

This is our second Janet Halfmann book and honestly I hope that this is only the beginning of a special collection in my little one's library.
