Pretty Please Press books (Festive R&G)

I'm old school and still feel that nothing beats giving a child a book for a present...especially a book that has a moral behind it or some lesson that gets subtly woven into the storyline. I've always said that encouraging a child to develop a love for books is one of the best gifts you can give you children. It's also rewarding to walk into a room and see a toddler look through books with an eagerness to absorb all that's held in each book.

Pretty Please Press is a fairly new publisher in the market having established their publishing business in 2001. All their books have a message entwined in the stories....a value the reader can take back with him/her after reading each story. Bunny girl was sent 4 Pretty Please Press books and though she understood each story, I personally feel the books are for perhaps better suited for the 5 years plus age group. (More comprehensive storylines and for some 3 year olds long stories may not really keep them patient enough to wait till the end.)

Bella Basset Ballerina was our favorite book of all. The story revolves around a stubby legged little Basset who's only desire is to become a ballet dancer. She's dissuaded from all ends but finally there's encouragement from one person. Will she take the encouragement and run with it despite the odds? You need to read more to find out!

Values dealt with in the story: Determination, Perseverance and Inspiration to chase your dreams.

Oh my...may none of us ever have kids like the Scritchy little Twitchell sisters. Angelic on the outside but bullying brutes on the inside. Sanity and peace is only found when their parents decide to divide the house and live with a sister each on either side. A day comes when the fighting riot become the focus of attention in a public arena and as a result get offered a place to travel as part of a magician's troupe. How long will stardom last? Will the sisters ever change? You need to read more to find out!

Values dealt with in the story: Bonds in a sibling are strong than the rivalry that exists...one day it will prevail!

In Kick Block Punch, Sam a white belt karate student adamantly decides in his mind he's all set to get the black belt but is he really ready? Can he take on all a black belt is able to? You need to read more to find out!

Values dealt with in the story: Patience and practice are required to develop and build skills....nothing comes the easy way.

The purple Pynx and her massive new brood of babies are anything but quiet....their 'Breeek-breeeks' infuriate the residents around till the day they find that having a Pynx around is actually very useful. You need to read more to find out why!

Values dealt with in the story: Everyone's differences need to be accepted and tolerance is needed to live harmoniously.
