Quick WAGS stop- saved 10.19$ + got free stuff and an overage of 70 cents

Did a quick stop at Walgreens yesterday. Hadn't sorted out the coupons to match the week's deals so just picked up what I could find.
This is what I bought:

This is what I spent:

4 Twix Bars @ 69 cents each
Minus 4 Free Chocolate coupons from the Free Chocolate Friday sweeps
(This runs every Friday till September 25. Starts at 9 am and ends at 11.59 pm. The first 250,000 people to register will receive a coupon via snail mail for free chocolate. I understand you can enter a maximum of 4 times per household) Remember to enter today!
Final cost for 4 bars- FREE

1 Kelloggs Rice Krispies box(12 oz) @ 1.99$
Minus 1$ off manufacturer coupon (June's Smart Source)
Final cost for 1 box- 99 cents

1 Degree Deo stick @ 2.99$
Minus 2$ off manufacturer coupon from Coupons.com
Receive a 2$ Register reward back from Walgreens
Final cost for 1 Deo- FREE + 1$ moneymaker

1 Aquafresh @ 1.99$
Minus 1$ manufacturer mailer coupon
Receive a 1$ Register reward back from Walgreens
Final cost for 1 toothpaste- Free + 1 cent moneymaker

1 Goody Ouchless Flex hairband @ 3.99$
Minus 1$ manufacturer coupon from Coupons.com
Receive a Mail in Rebate for a full return from the Register Rewards machine
Final cost for 1 hairband- Free + 1$ moneymaker

My Total Out of Pocket spending - 6.29$
Total Savings on the Receipt - 10.19$
Total Register Rewards received - 3$
Mail in Rebate return- 3.99$

In effect I spent 6.29$ but have got back a total of 6.99$ from the rewards received + considering the rebate that will come in. 70 cents overage! Not much but then consider I got all this for FREE.

Like I always say.. "Couponing pays and is never a waste of time!"

P.S. Check your local Walgreens clearance section. 2 days ago I found a pack of 10 food storage boxes orginally priced at 5$, clearanced down to 1.75$. For 10 food storage boxes I thought this was a good deal. I also bought 3 tubes of Quick Fix Super glue clearanced down to 27 cents a tube.

P.P.S. Hubby doesn't use Degree, so this goes into the box for the Salvation Army. This is what I believe...

You may not use all the stuff you buy but if you can get something for free, buy it anyway and keep it in a box you set aside to donate to your local Food Bank or the Salvation Army. Somebody less fortunate can always benefit with your frugality!

  1. Apparently you shop a lot like I do... sales and coupons. Great job on this last trip! There's no price any nicer than free.

I also donate items that we won't use.
