With the Christmas holidays just a few days away, I'm sure you will need a little help keeping the little ones busy while you get all the Christmas 'Must Do's completed before Christmas Eve. Thanks to Nick Jr. you don't have to look far thanks to the goodies in the Very Merry Nick Jr. Christmas Pack!

With a generous topping of imagination, your little one can join the Backyardigans for some fun Christmas adventure in the Christmas with the Backyardigans DVD

This 95 minute long DVD features four Holiday episodes, that include:


The Action Elves Save Christmas
It’s Christmas Eve and Santa’s Magic Sack is missing. This sounds like a job for Santa’s Action Elves! Tasha, Uniqua, and Pablo are the stealthiest elves around. Are they crafty enough to get past the Abominable Brothers?

Pablo and the Acorns
The Acorns (Tasha, Tyrone, and Austin) are kindly Scouts who value outdoor adventure and helping those in need. But they are put to the ultimate challenge when they try to help Pablo, an evil dictator from outer space.

The Big Dipper Diner
Waitress Uniqua and Cook Pablo meet their hungriest customer yet when Hugs, a sweet little space alien, drops into their space diner. But an almost identical space alien, the Blarg, is also in the neighborhood shrinking things!

The Amazing Splashinis
The Amazing Splashinis (Uniqua, Tyrone, and Pablo) astound with their incredible synchronized dives. But practicing their latest dive becomes close to impossible when they discover a Sea Monster in the pool.

Action Elves was the most 'Christmas-sy' of the four episodes with the elves and the snowmen but if your child loves Tyrone, Pablo and the rest of the gang, he/she will not be disappointed.


Another favorite with many little ones is the cute series "Ni Hao, Kai-Lan". The latest release in the same is the Princess Kai-Lan DVD?
This isn't a Christmas DVD but we love Kailan and learning new Chinese words with her, so it really didn't matter.

This 96 minute long DVD features three episodes, that include:


Princess Kai-lan (Double feature)
Kai-lan, Rintoo, Tolee and Hoho are playing in the backyard when they get a visit from their superhero friend, the Monkey King, who really needs their help. Kai-lan and her friends go on an adventure with the Monkey King and see what they can do. The Monkey King gives them robes to wear that give them special powers to float, jump, and spin in the air! They’ll have to use their special powers – and the viewer’s help – to leap over bamboo forests, travel past a moat of giant bubbles, and find their way into the majestic palaces.
The Monkey King tells Kai-lan and friends about a magical kingdom where bears and foxes live together but don’t get along. Kai-lan must use her special powers to get to the palace, and help the foxes and bears become friends!

Lulu’s Cloud
Kai-lan is invited over to Lulu’s magical house in the clouds! She is thrilled that Mr. Dragon is flying her there, but Hoho gets upset when he sees that the games, the food, and even the hats are different than what he’s used to, and soon he wants to go home. It’s up to Kai-lan and the viewer to help Hoho see that if he tries some different things, he might actually like them!

The Moon Festival
Kai-lan is excited for the traditional Chinese Moon Festival, and Hoho is thrilled because he’s finally old enough to stay awake with his friends so they can make lanterns, eat mooncakes, and best of all, watch the moon come out! But when the sky is so cloudy that Hoho can’t see the moon at all, he breaks into tears. Kai-lan and the viewer have to help Hoho find a way to make everything better.

Bunny girl's favorite was the Princess Kailan episode. Mine too. I thought it was nicely put together to bring across the importance of being respectful of people around us in a way that any preschooler could relate and apply the same.

And finally what Nick Jr. pack would be complete without our all time favorite "We Did It" star, little Miss Dora?

In Dora's Christmas Carol Adventure DVD , Swiper tries to swipe the Christmas Star from Dora’s Nochebuena Party. As a result, he lands on Santa’s naughty list. To get back on the nice list, Dora must help Swiper travel to the past, the present, and the future to discover the true spirit of Christmas.

This 50 minute DVD is our favorite of the 3 DVDs and has a lovely festive feel to the same, from beginning to end. This will be more entertaining for older preschoolers as it's more on the lines of being a movie than the regular short episodes with the standard guide of going through three obstacles/points to finally reach the given destination.

Another must buy to complete the pack would be Dora's Christmas CD that features 16 Christmas foot tappers...but with a Dora twist to the same.

The songs include Bunny girl's favorites Feliz Navidad, A Holly Jolly Christmas and Deck The Halls. (The non Christmas add ons were okay. We've just been playing the Christmas numbers repeatedly.)
