CLOSED: Seventh Generation's Project Laundry Line (+Giveaway) - Post 1

If you've been reading my blog for a while now, you'd know that I have a 'thing' for Seventh Generation products.

So far all of Bunny Boo's clothes have been washed with their Baby Laundry Liquid and he has not broken into rashes or had any reactions to the detergent.

Bunny girl's clothes have been washed with the Baby Laundry Liquid too and it has worked well for her. Since the past two weeks though, I've switched washing her clothes and ours with Seventh Generation's Natural 2x Concentrated Laundry Liquid.

There are several things that are noteworthy about this product.
  1. It's hypoallergenic
  2. Free of phosphates and optical brighteners
  3. Has plant derived cleaning agents
  4. Has premium protein and starch stain removers
  5. Is non toxic
  6. Not tested on animals and
  7. Is Kosher certified.
Yes it's green all the way! To complement Seventh Generation's Natural 2x Concentrated Laundry Liquid and the 'eco friendly statement' the big brand puts out, I was asked to review this product and do my laundry the 'green way'!

How can you do you laundry the 'green way' you ask?
Simple!
  1. Wash your clothes in cold water.
  2. Line dry your clothes in the sun instead of using the dryer after washing the clothes.
Come watch my review and please be kind....I'm very shy with my Flip!

Oh and did I add what I love the most about Seventh Generation's Natural 2x Concentrated Laundry Liquid?.....
The fact that I don't need to add cup fulls of the detergent to get a well lathered load of washing followed by a crisp, clean bundle of laundry.

I know many people are apprehensive about washing clothes in cold water especially when you consider the hygiene aspects. I used to feel that way till Bunny girl's first Pediatrician, back home, suggested I use two additional products in my washing to enhance the cleaning process while using cold water.
Watch the video to see what you can do too....

Now the 'drying' part is easy for me because I personally love line drying clothes and would be doing that regularly here if we didn't stay in an apartment but as soon as we move into our own home, you will find lines of wet clothes embroidering our back-yard!

For this review, though, I did use our clothesline (Affectionately called 'The Spaceship' in our home!) and placed it in front of our apartment window. (No thankfully our Landlord didn't come by else he may have just had a mini scare!)

I've personally found that clothes last longer when line dried out in the sun- colors stay brighter and fabrics don't frazzle as easily on the ends.

It has also been proven that the sun's rays are your natural solution to kill whatever germs may remain on your child's or your clothing after a tumble in the washing machine.

If you consider doing your laundry 'the green way' remember that you will also save about 200 US$ a year just by washing your clothes in cold water and drying them on a clothesline (versus using an electric dryer)

Also if every household in the U.S. replaced just one bottle of traditional 100 oz. concentrate laundry liquid with a 100 oz. concentrate plant-derived product, like Seventh Generation, we could save 466,000 barrels of oil, enough to heat and cool 26,800 U.S. homes for a year.

Now that's food for thought!

Lets 'Go Green' together and lets try and make 'Project Laundry Line' more than just a one off activity.
