CLOSED: Quick meals with Wanchai Ferry(+Giveaway)

If ever you feel like you'd want to enjoy a quick Chinese meal with your pajamas still on, make sure you stop at a nearby store and pick up one of Madame Chong's authentic meals under the brand she established -Wanchai Ferry.

The latest addition to the Wanchai Ferry line of products are their Beef and Broccoli frozen entrees for two. (Oh yes...the generously portioned 'Quick Meal' fixes!)

The frozen entree pack comes with frozen veggies (brocolli, red peppers and water chestnuts) and frozen beef strips that are placed in the main pouch and 2 separate pouches hold frozen rice and the soy, garlic brown sauce.

Making your Beef and Broccoli meal is easy.

You first need to add a cup of water to the frozen veggies and beef and allow the same to bubble, thaw out and cook a bit, for about 10 minutes. Now I'm always careful when it comes to frozen meat, so I cooked our meat in a little more than a cup full of water for over 15 minutes.

Next you need to open out the packet holding the sauce and add the same to the beef and veggie mixture. I left this to simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes.

You can microwave the pouch holding the frozen rice once your Beef and Broccoli mixture is ready. That way you will have a steaming plate effusing yummy Oriental aromas and Voila, a meal for two, ready to be attacked!

I personally felt the sauce was a little sweet for my tastes but Hubby thought it tasted quite good. I think I'd really love to try out the Szechuan Style Chicken or the Spicy Garlic Chicken entree. I'm sure they'd have the spice kick that I found missing in the Beef and Broccoli.
