So you've just found out you are expecting a beautiful little bundle of joy in a few months....its time to celebrate but where can you go to satisfy your jalapeno cravings and Hubby's love for rich cheesy fries and at the same time not leave a dent in his wallet?
Tried Chili's Grill ?!

Chili's has a new segment of an appetizer and entree pairing for just 9.99 US$.

Our 'picks':

We had a day packed with activity prior to stopping in at Chili's for lunch, so we were ravenous and couldn't wait to try the inviting Pairings!

Bunny girl stuck to the Pepper Pals kids menu and ordered a regular cheese pizza (she somehow had pizza on her mind the whole morning and was thrilled to find out it was on the menu...Sigh!)that came with fries and a chocolate milk.

Hubby ordered the Texas cheese fries appetizer (minus the bacon bits...we're not big on bacon!)

and the Fried Shrimp entree,

while I chose the Southwestern egg rolls for the appetizer

and the Mini tacos (chose the combination of chicken and shrimp) as the entree. (This comes with a serving of spanish rice with beans)

For dessert we ordered 1 Brownie Sundae and shared it.

The Verdict:

If you don't mind an appetizer loaded with cheese then boy, oh boy you have to try the Texas cheese fries.

Take a look at how loaded with cheese this is......Mmmmmm! Hubby wasn't too fond of the cheese but jalapenos, cheese and fries, oh my.....I walloped as much as I could....Yum!

The de-veined fried shrimp entree was crispy, succulent and not doused with oil. Hubby and Bunny girl polished off the generous serving of shrimp without a struggle.

The Southwestern egg rolls were average. We felt the rolls tasted more like a spanish rice and bean mix stuffed in a roll but the Mini tacos were good. I generally lean in preference towards chicken dishes so the crispy chicken tacos hit the spot for me.

Bunny girl's platter was honestly so-so and she preferred sharing things off our plate after 3 slices of her pizza. She loved the chocolate milk though and strangely she's not a 'fries' lover so I suppose I really should have ordered mashed potatoes instead.

The highlight of the meal, was without a doubt the Brownie Sundae.

The hot crispy brownie topped with hot caramel fudge and tipped with a scoop of cold vanilla icecream was, without a doubt, the best way to end the meal. We literally licked this rich dessert plate clean even though we were bursting at the seams after our meal!

Overall the food was good. Servings, we felt, were very generous and though it seems like you may be able to finish everything laid on the table, don't be surprised if you will be asking for a take home pack half way through to pack leftovers.

The one thing we absolutely love about Chili's, besides the food, is the customer service. We've always loved the customer experience and never think twice about going back, whenever anyone suggests stopping there for a meal.
