Simple Green Naturals Review and Giveaway (BTSC-Day 35)

Have you heard of any company actually spending 3 million dollars to prove their product is actually environmentally friendly? Neither did I till I read that the Sunshine Makers actually invested that much to make sure you and I received a product that was safe, toxin free not just to the environment but to us too. Now that's something! I knew I'd definitely give this 30 year old company's products a shot and agreed to review their line of Simple Green Naturals products.

While reading through the site, before trying out the products, I was impressed to note the Simple Green Naturals research team had done their homework before putting their products out into the market. It's not just a "Try us, we're green and we're great" shout out but it's more of a " Here's why you need to try us......

Plus all our products are made from naturally derived ingredients and are non toxic, biodegradable and meet the Green Seal environment standard for household cleaners!" statement of confidence.

Impressive!... But that's not enough to take the cake, right? The real acid test is in trying out each product!

The Simple Green Naturals line I received included
  • Simple Green Naturals bathroom cleaner
  • Simple Green Naturals glass and surface care
  • Simple Green Naturals multi surface care
  • Simple Green Naturals liquid dish soap
  • Simple Green Naturals liquid hand soap
  • Simple Green Naturals floor care
  • Simple Green Naturals carpet care
The first thing I noticed about the products was that they didn't have a very strong burning scent that stays in your nostrils. (That's one of the main reasons I stopped using regular glass surface cleaners especially!) I was particularly drawn to the lovely rosemary mint scent of the Glass and Surface care product and the Bathroom cleaner but my favorite was the Floor Care's sparkling spruce fragrance.

I also noticed that each product came with a set of instructions- how to use it, what cleaning product to use (dry cloth, paper towel etc), a note of 'common sense precaution' (as they put it) and ofcourse a list of the natural ingredients used in the product.

Here are my views on each product:

Lovely scent and a product that just doesn't smell great but performs as well! I generally have a problem with a few spots in the bathroom, which when cleaned pop up again after a few minutes. The Simple Green Naturals bathroom cleaner passed the test. The spots cleaned out and haven't returned yet!

I'm always careful with the glass and surface cleaners I buy especially as my little helper- Bunny girl- always insists she help me with the glass coffee table and bathroom mirrors. I quickly had to switch from a regular glass cleaner to an organic one when I noticed the chemicals were so strong, she'd have the sniffles for the rest of the day, after helping me clean. I like the Simple Green Naturals glass and surface cleaner
because it cleaned out the water and tiny toothpaste stains off my bathroom mirror without a scrub, scrub, scrub but with just a little rub and the smell of rosemary mint is just ....mmmmm!

I used the Simple Green Naturals Multi Surface cleaner to take off a stubborn tea rim on my computer table and with one swipe, my rim was out. The lemon verbena scent reminds me of the other organic cleaner I use, so the scent wasn't unique but the product worked better than I expected as I generally struggle with my stubborn tea stains!

I'm generally loyal to my dish washing liquid as it has never let me down in the past (!). The Simple Green Naturals dish washing liquid soap cleaned out my greasy vessels well but maybe I missed the strong citrus fragrance that fills the area after I'm done with the dishes. Cleaning wise, the product passed my test but the fragrance I guess lacked the strong citrus punch I love.

Again another product I'm brand loyal on but again, I'm open to trying an alternative potential replacement. I loved that the Simple Green Naturals liquid hand soap not only lathered well but also left my hands feeling the way it did before I washed it- it didn't dry out and it still felt soft. As you can tell the fragrance is a big deal to me and the herb garden scent just wasn't my thing sadly.

Oooh I so love the sparkling spruce fragrance of the Simple Green Naturals floor care product. I'll be honest I even sprayed a little around a room that didn't need cleaning only because I love the scent! We have regular tiled floors and in an apartment, well you can just about guess how clean they stay but the Simple Green Naturals floor care cleaner worked well. I used it on muddy footprint stains and they cleaned out the marks without needing to really rub at the spots.

I wish I had the Simple Green Naturals Carpet Care a few weeks ago when Bunny girl threw up on the carpet when some food we ate at a friend's place didn't agree with her tummy. We had to leave the carpet out for an entire day just to cut off any residual odors. I've not really had any stains or accidents on my carpet since then, so I really haven't been able to put this product onto the ultimate carpet stain. The scent is 'free and clear'...so honestly I didn't get a whiff of any fragrance whatsoever!

All in all, I'm satisfied with the line and would recommend everyone to switch to greener products. Not only are they friendly to the environment but they're safe to your family, in every way! Simple Green Naturals are not expensive and can be found in these stores or can be ordered online from the Simple Green Naturals site.

I say "Go Simple Green Naturals!" Woo-hoo!!
