Random.org has chosen our winner:
Congratulations Michele P.
The day your little princess was born you knew without a doubt you are her guardian angel. You need to safeguard her every movement, make sure she never gets hurt and you are quick to run to her side each time she balances on the edge of a disaster. You do all that because she is your precious little princess and you want only the best for her. You want her to be safe from anything that could hurt her. You are her "I'll Protect You" Super Careful Mom/Dad!
But did you know there are some things our little princesses use that we thought were safe and okay only because we didn't know otherwise? Well I was 'enlightened' on my ignorance of nail-polishes when I read this little excerpt from Melanie Hurley, another Stay at Home Mom, another "I'll Protect You" Super Careful Mom.
"One day while we were painting nails over a foam plate, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and ate through the plate. I looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other kid polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate. From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for my children's fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths."Shocked? I was! Just look at the foam getting eaten. Imagine our little ones nails!! I knew our regular nail-polishes were strong ( can't you tell with just one whiff? ) but not this strong...AND this harmful!
Now for the good news- Melanie Hurley founded a great company called Piggy Paint - our solution to this messy nail polish problem.

Piggy Paint produces nail polishes that are

- Water based
- Non toxic
- Odorless
- Hypoallergenic
- Quick drying
Bunny girl was my little guinea pig for this review and I'm sure you know there was no struggle to get her to sit still to get her toe nails all prettied up. I have to say the color we got was 'Girls Rule' (ha ha, how apt!) and the nail polish dried quickly and hasn't chipped or faded for three days now.
Piggy Paint has some fun kid colors to choose from and can be bought directly from the site, from online retailers or certain stores in the US.All orders over 25$ will enjoy the benefit of FREE domestic shipping

My Princess would LOVE some piggy paint! It was so expensive that I haven't ordered it yet, but we'd love some!!
ReplyDeleteI learned that piggy paint is all natural. My daughter is always painting her nails, this would be such a great alternative to those polishes such as maybelline and so forth! She is older now, but I wish I'd known or thought to use painting nails as fine motor skills activity when she was younger!!

ReplyDeletePiggy Paint is water-based, doesn't contain harsh chemicals, takes longer to reach ultimate hardness so a blow dryer can speed up process and helps achieve maximum chip resistance. Thanks for great review & giveaway!
