Barney Live In Concert - Birthday Bash!

Barney has a very special place in our hearts especially since he was the first character Bunny girl was introduced to as a baby. Bunny girl has grown up with Barney songs and we can sing all our favorite Barney songs at the drop of a hat.
Hence when we heard our favorite purple dinosaur was coming to town and that he was celebrating his birthday, we just knew we had to be a part of the big celebrations!

Yes we even took our Barney and Baby Bop plush toys along!

Barney Live In Concert - Birthday Bash! is a foot tapping, finger snapping, "get out of your seat and dance" interactive show featuring the lovable Barney, rockstar BJ, his little sister Baby Bop, Riff and 4 new 'human' friends.
(Unlike the DVDs, the 4 friends are grown ups and believe me when I say that it seems like they had springs attached to their shoes. Wow those 4 can dance....and effortlessly that too! )

With a little imagination.... and your loudest singing voice, you will be smack in the middle of the most upbeat birthday party you've ever been to.

We were thrilled to sing along to all our favorite numbers like "If All the Raindrops", "Colors of the Rainbow", "If You're Happy and You Know It", " The Baby Bop Hop", "The Dino Dance", "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and Barney's signature "I Love You" song.

We were even introduced to Mr. Knickerbocker

and heard three songs for the very first time.

Like all Barney episodes, the show weaved in learning and fun with songs like the "A,B,C" song, "Fruits and Vegetables" and the "Clean Up" song.

Bunny Boo is 8 months old but the show even had him engrossed and gurgling with giggles, till just before the interval when my poor tired baby fell asleep.

Bunny girl has already started asking me when the next Barney show will come to town and if you promise not to laugh I'll let you in on a big purple secret.....I honestly can't wait for the next one either!

HWL Spotlight Feature #6: Sumo's Sweet Stuff

The Handmade Giveaway Extravaganza like no other!
(Feb 2-6, 2011)

To sustain your excitement till the event, I'm inviting you to hop over and visit our featured Handmade With Love Spotlight Sponsor. Feel free to shop from their store and follow them through the social media links provided below.

Etsy is like an ocean filled with hidden treasures, waiting to be explored. On one of my 'exploratory' searches I found a creative Mommy of two's "everything sweet" store.

The Buzz:

Sumo's Sweet Stuff carries handmade headbands,

hair clips,

infant bracelets

and more.

E.B. Mommy's Report:

Summer's headbands are unique and different from any headband Bunny girl owns.

The interchangeable headband is our favorite, with the black, crocheted, interchangeable, 'flower with bling' button that can be switched out to mix and match your little one's outfits.
(Extra crocheted flowers for the same must be bought separately.)

The contender to the interchangeable band is the pretty Pink and Brown Rosette flower clip that can also be clipped onto a hat for an alternate look.

We were also sent a Brooklyn style headband with a glitter brad embellishment. This band is one of those "Look at me" headbands that are best to be paired with a plain solid outfit if you prefer not to have it look too prominent.

Sumo's Sweet Stuff also makes pillow case dresses and ruffle pants but these would be made to order.

HWL Spotlight Feature #5: A Little Indulgence

The Handmade Giveaway Extravaganza like no other!
(Feb 2-6, 2011)

To sustain your excitement till the event, I'm inviting you to hop over and visit our featured Handmade With Love Spotlight Sponsor. Feel free to shop from their store and follow them through the social media links provided below.

Some events happen once in a lifetime....
And a lifetime of beautiful memories can begin with just the right dress for your little or not so little girl at A Little Indulgence

The Buzz:

Once upon a time in a land far, far away with many tall buildings and lots of people lived a mother of two little girls. One day an invitation came in the mail to a very special party. Both girls needed something to wear so the mother, Chief Princess Tracy, set off to find something beautiful and appropriate for a young lady.

The mother searched high and low going from store to store. Some stores had dresses in styles far too old for a young princess. Other stores had dresses that quickly fell apart. After looking for many months, the mother decided to create beautiful dresses and offer them directly to the kingdom
. Hence A Little Indulgence
was born.

A Little Indulgence carries the most gorgeous dresses for a young girl.
Every dress featured is made to order and is handmade by seamstresses that weave the silk fabric to Tracy's specifications and help keep the tradition of hand weaving alive.

E.B. Mommy's Report:

Okay I admit it!.... I have a weakness for pretty dresses and accessories for little girls. I cringe when I see little girls dressing up like teenagers. Maybe I'm old school but honestly it puts a smile on my face to see a little girl with ribbons in her hair, wearing a fluffed up frilly dress with lace or a nice big sash or even delicate embroidery.

It's sometimes quite a feat to find an age appropriate party dress for Bunny girl in the stores as it has somehow become the norm to try and fashion clothes for 5 year olds that look like something I would ordinarily pick for an 18 year old!

I love that Tracy has made sure that she has kept the "child" in every dress she creates.

Her ivory pink tea rose Princess dress is a stunner. Photographs do no justice whatsoever to this 100% luxurious silk dress.

The 'little girl' design touches like the long satin sash, the rounded collar, the puffed up Princess sleeves and the rouged up effect on the waist are what make this dress what it is.

The icing on the cake is that the dress is designed in such a way that Little Princess will be able to enjoy wearing the same for atleast 2 years and since this particular pattern is available in sizes 2-10, you can also order one for your tween too!

A Little Indulgence dresses are beautiful and for every sale completed, a portion of the proceeds goes towards sponsoring meals at orphanages in Thailand.
Now doesn't that make your little indulgence on a grand dress for your little Princess all the more worth it?.... I thought so too!

Tiny Prints....It's All About Love (Review Only)

When praying for my life partner, it was the cry of my heart that God would give me a husband who would clean a whole chicken and who would know how to cook.
Why?
Because I knew nothing about cooking and seeing a slippery, rubber feeling, cold plucked chicken on my chopping board was just not my "thang"!

God was good. He fulfilled the desires of my heart with Hubby and yes he can clean a whole chicken and whip up an amazing meal in the kitchen.

A few weeks after we got married, I decided I'd show Hubby how much I loved him by cleaning some fresh fish we'd bought just the previous night.
(Now if a raw whole chicken gave me the shivers, raw fish totally grossed me out....Ugh!).

Believe me when I say that gutting that icky fish with its jello-like insides was one of my biggest stomach churning moments as a novice cook!
((Sigh!))...It's All About Love!!

Oh yes Hubby was impressed but it cost me a lot of inner steel and that was the first and LAST time I've cleaned out a whole fish. (Thank God for cleaned fish fillets!)

Valentine's Day is coming up and you don't have to go through the torture of cleaning fish to express your love for your Hubby.
Just hop over to Tiny Prints site and get him a Valentine's Day card!

(They even have cards for the little munchkins, cards for the preschool class buddies, Valentine's Day stickers, gift tags and more!)

Tiny Prints Buzz:

Tiny Prints provides simple, modern and unique stationery from Valentines Day cards to personalized greeting cards to thank you cards, business cards, and even custom wedding invitations.

Offering exclusive designs from the nation's top designers, easy card personalization, a powerful preview engine and top-notch customer service and paper quality, their designs have been lauded by numerous television networks, publications and celebrities.

With Tiny Prints by your side commemorating every holiday and momentous occasion is a cinch! They offer perfect party invitations for every occasion and memorable personalized photo-gifts like notebooks, photo books and calendars.

CLOSED: Little Green Books (+ A Green Pack Giveaway) - 5 winners

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

If you're looking for ways to introduce and inspire your child to a more "earth friendly' way of life, then the new eco-friendly series from Simon and Schuster's Children Publishing Division is just what you need!

The Buzz:

Little Green Books
cover a variety of subjects, teaching children about the dangers of global warming, the benefits of recycling, what they can do to help endangered animals, and much more.

Little Green Books has even teamed up with your child's favorite Nick Jr. characters to spread the awareness to help protect the earth, every day, in little ways.

These books don't just talk "green" but ARE "green". Every book is printed with vegetable or soy based inks, are made from recycled materials and are 100% recyclable.

E.B. Mommy's Report:

We had the opportunity to look through four books from the series:

Little Monkey

Recommended for ages: 0-3

This adorable book talks about a spunky little monkey who loves to swing from branch to branch and play with his buddy, the Little Panda.

The book is made with a Polartec fleece cover and the pages are fabric based, making this a great choice for babies and toddlers.

The Polar Bear's Home

Recommended for ages: 4-6

Bunny girl's preschool class had been talking about Arctic animals two weeks ago. I just wish this book had come in then as it the little Arctic inhabitant in the book features a Mama Polar bear and her two cubs.
The story awakens the young reader to the effects of global warming and how it affects the Polar Bear. It then ends with a 'Call To Action' and shows us how we can help save the Polar Bears by doing little things to help slow down the growth of global warming.

Don't Throw That Away: Lift The Flap Book about Recycling & Reusing

Recommended for ages: 4-6

Every child loves 'Lift The Flap' books and it is rare to find books for older children that have flaps in them. This book not only provides that element of fun but also challenges the child to be a "Super Green Hero" and think of ways they can turn what people would ordinarily see as trash into something that can be of practical use.

Easy to be Green: Simple Activities you can do to save the Earth

Recommended for ages: 4-8

This educational book has it all!
From eco facts, eco tips and eco challenges to coloring and activity pages, this 32 paged book is packed with resources and mini projects that will kick start your little one and you into "Lets Get Green and Stay Green" mode.

These books are a great investment into your child's library and I'm sure their teachers would love to have a set for the school too !

CLOSED: Zutano....C.T.Q. Clothing for Children. (+ 75$ Gift Certificate Giveaway)

*Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

I've dressed Bunny girl in Zutano and Bunny Boo in Itzy Bitzy and honestly I'm a Happy Momma when it comes to these two brands.
To put it simply, the clothes are "C.T.Q." ....

Comfortable

Trendy

and High Quality.
(Oh yes, 100% superior cotton. Love it!)

The Buzz:

Twenty two years ago, Zutano launched their baby collection with just 4 styles and 6 colors. Today they boast of a diverse collection of 100% cotton clothing for children, in over 90 solids, dots, patterns, ginghams and stripes. Fabric options have now also grown to include Cozie fleece, French Terry and many Woven options.

Each piece is created to reflect expression, style and uniqueness of the young wearer.

E.B. Mommy's Report:

We were sent a piece from the new line that will come out in the Spring and once again I have to rave about the quality of the fabric.

This is one set that I can dress Bunny girl in to play outdoors, stay cool and yet protected from the sun. The overall look is "happy" and radiates Spring all over.
Now even though I am more partial towards Zutano's dresses I will admit that Zutano is Zutano.
You can't but help love whatever they bring out!

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win a 75 US$ Gift Certificate that may be used towards anything in the Zutano Store.

Here's how you can win it:
