The Buzz:
What's In The Bible Volume 5: Israel Gets A King! is based on the books in the Bible, 1st and 2nd Samuel.

Part One: “The People Want a King!” covers the book of 1st Samuel and the life of Saul as Israel’s first king.
Part Two: “Kings Make Mistakes Too!”covers 2nd Samuel and the first chapter of 1st Kings, including the reigns of King David and his son, King Solomon.
E.B. Mommy's Report:
What's In The Bible Volume 5: Israel Gets A King! is just as great as the first 4 volumes and is filled with songs that will help your child learn about the featured passages, humor to keep the viewing mood alive and lots of undiluted Bible learning.
By the time we'd finishing watching the DVD Bunny girl was bursting with all the information she'd just absorbed and as soon as her Daddy walked in through the front door, she made him sit down on the couch and rattled off all she'd learnt.
She was shocked to hear that Solomon had 700 wives and later clearly announced that she wanted to be like David. Why? Because he was the only one who came back to God to ask for His forgiveness, after he'd made his big mistake.
I love that these DVDs introduce the child to Biblical facts that are otherwise left out of a regular children's Bible and that they're communicated in a manner that is simple, understandable and very easy to remember. Investing in the What's In The Bible series is not just beneficial for the kids but also for the grown ups in the family.

ReplyDeleteKing David is my favorite because he was a man after God's own heart and I think that's such a role model to strive to be like.

ReplyDeleteKing Solomon is my favorite because when God came to him in a dream and God asked him what he would want, Solomon did not ask for riches or anything for himself but asked only for an understanding heart to judge his people. He was given the gift of wisdom.
