Ruthie May and Tamsin Ainslie's book Count My Kisses, Little One is a sweet book to read to your little one just before it's time to say goodnight or even during the day.


The Buzz:

In Count My Kisses, Little One a little girl helps her toy puppy to bed, loving him all along the way: story time, bath time, and lullaby.

Each kiss is represented by a heart, and readers are invited to count the hearts on each spread. With delightful illustrations and calming rhymes.


E.B. Mommy's Report:

I've read this book to both my 'bunnies' and even though one is 10 months old and the other 5 years old, it triggered off gleeful giggles.

From a learning perspective I would say this would be great for the 1-3 year old age range especially as it encourages a child to count from 1 to 10.

You can even make this an interactive, fun read.
For example: For "Eight kisses for baby to a lullaby tune" you can sing your little one's favorite 'night-night' song and encourage your little one to sing along. Right after the little singing session kiss your little one eight times and have him/her count along with you as you count those kisses all the way upto eight.

That being said, I would still say this is an enjoyable book even if your little one is older than that age range or younger as it involves special Mommy/Daddy-Baby time with hugs, cuddles and kisses galore!
