Olivia Playset and Plush (Review Only)

When Bunny girl's school closes for the holidays, she celebrates because she gets to watch some of her favorite (Mama permitted!) shows, one being Nick Jr's spunky little piggy Olivia.
So when Team Mom sent me the buzz on Spin Master's Olivia toys, I didn't need any convincing to review little Miss Olivia's 2 in 1 Playset and the Olivia plush all dressed in the cow costume.

I have to confess that the 11" tall plush is sweet and she may have liked it more if she wasn't looking bovine but what really caught Bunny girl's attention was the 2 in 1 Playset.

Bunny girl loves playing with little characters, animals and accessories (I honestly think imaginative play, reading and drawing are her favorite activities at home.), so the 23 piece bi-transformational Playset has been fun.

The set comes with a sticker sheet that helps further dress up each set and some of the accessories. (Bunny girl has safely stashed away her sticker sheet, I suppose with the intention of using it for something else later!).

The house setting is cute with a bedroom, kitchen, living and door passage area. It's like playing with a doll house only in this case your child's little dolly is a zest filled, adventurous little pig.

I have noticed that the pirate ship setting is not really used all that much. Perhaps they could have made it a playground setting, school setting or maybe even a concert setting.

The Playset is easy for your child to use once she figures out how to snap open the box to the setting of choice. The accessories are well sized for the set but should be kept away if you have crawling babies and toddlers at home....oh and make sure your vacuum doesn't find any pieces either!

Buy it:

You can buy the Olivia 2 in 1 Playset on Amazon.com for 29.99 US$ and the Olivia Plush for 19.99 US$

Mac 'n' Cheese?...YES Please! (+ Kraft Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Most children love (and when I say love...I really mean love!) Mac n Cheese but honestly after a while it can get to be a little drab and bleh. So whenever that does happen, whip out Kraft's Homestyle Deluxe Mac n Cheese Dinner ...and go gourmet!

Kraft Foods presently sells the 4 servings a pack dinners in three flavors-
Our favorite is the Old World Italian mainly because the sauce is not too rich but yet has that cheese kick in it and the sauce was easy to make...a little butter, milk and the contents in the pack...that's all!

I think what helped neutralize all the flavors and add a little crunch was the topping of breadcrumbs.

If you have some grilled chicken leftovers in the fridge, slice them into strips and serve them hot over our hearty Mac n Cheese meal. Also tear up some lettuce, chop up some tomatoes, shred a few carrots and then throw them into a salad bowl.

Voila!
Your Mac n Cheese gets a total makeover. A dish grows into a complete meal and you have happy tummies around the dinner table! (And mind you, with the chicken, salad et al, you'd have fed your family of 4 with less than 7 US$ flat!)

Buy it:

You can buy a single Kraft Homestyle Mac n Cheese Dinner pack for 2.99 US$ only.

CLOSED: Trading Phrases' Wall Decals (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

It's always fun to bring life to a home with wall decals only because they're easy to put on, easy to take off and so much more cost effective especially when you've decided you're ready to give your room or a wall a new look. Trading Phrases has a beautiful collection of precision cute vinyl letters (or as they're commonly called -wall decals) that are available in 64 matte colors and are ready to order or may be customized.

Hubby and I thought The Laundry Room: Loads of Fun wall decal would be perfect for our laundry room.

The lettering was delivered rolled up and needed to be flattened out before my sister carefully positioned it on the wall.

Once that was done, she slowly peeled away the back paper while simultaneously using the provided tiny plastic card to firmly affix the lettering and ensure no air bubbles sprouted up during application.

It took a lot of patience (especially because some of the lettering adamantly stuck to the back paper and she had to make sure the letters would not snap in the middle or tear away) but slowly and steadily she made progress all the way to the end.

Now isn't this cute?

I have to confess that the picture does no justice whatsoever to my laundry room and the sweet decal.....so you just have to take my word for it and believe me when I tell you that I've had several guests comment and compliment on how unique and neat the lettering looks in the laundry room.

Now if we had a stainless steel fridge, I know I'd pick this decal without a second thought. I've earmarked it in my mind till that time.
(Hop over and check it out for a good laugh! Oh and while you're there, wait a while and enjoy the decals featured.)

Buy it:

You can buy the 30 x 9 Laundry Room Loads decal for 35 US$ and the 30 x 14 Love, Memories decal for 34 US$

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win
the Love, Memories decal in the color of choice.

CLOSED: Howdy Dowdy..it's Texas Treats! (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Everything's just a little more special down in Texas and if you're looking for sweet little Texas reminder or a crunchy bite to remind you of the Lone Star State, then Texas Treats is your stop!

Just a little over 19 years old, Texas Treats promises unique gift ideas that will reflect Texas all the way through....a great way to find presents for 'hard to buy' friends, co workers and family, perfect 'home' reminders for displaced and homesick Texans and loved ones serving in the military (They even sell their products on the AAFES military online mall)

I think their personalized labels on salsa jars will put a smile on anyone's face

The salsa is good but not as spicy as I personally like it to be. I like my salsa with a solid spice kick to it, thanks to my good buddy who, I say, makes the best salsa around.

Now with salsa, you just have to have generous 'grab'-fulls of tortilla chips but you know Texas Treats...they just have to add that extra 'thang' to everything they sell, so brace yourself to much a bag full of Texas shaped tortilla chips!

I also managed to sneak down practically the whole bowl of Texas Twisters, the latest addition to their line of munchables.

Now lest you think there isn't anything to satisfy your sweet tooth, think again!
There's an assortment of sweets that include Texas candy bars, pecan chews, praline pecans, cookies, cakes, mints and more.

Gift baskets, cookbooks, aprons, coffee and seasonings add more flavor to this Texan pot of treats.

All set to giddy-yap those fingers to bookmark this site? I'm sure you will find a lot of interesting gifts for a lot of people you know!

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win
the Austin basket

The basket is filled to the brim with:

  • Lone Star Torrtilla Chips (3 oz.)
  • Salsa Ranchera (8 oz.)
  • Habanero & Sour Cream Pretzel Nuggets (2 oz.)

A Christmas Prayer ( An Amy Parker Book Review)

Want to reiterate what Christmas is actually all about to your
little Christmas celebrants?
Then Amy Parker's A Christmas Prayer
is the book you need to pick up.

Book Brief:

In the tradition of A Night Night Prayer, this precious little child wanders through the house on a snowy Christmas night offering a prayer of thanks and blessing. The child finishes with thanks to God for the greatest Gift of all.

Noting all the characters in the Nativity, this lovable little nighttime prayer book has interactive dialogue and soothing rhyme for a child to repeat as they look around their world at Christmastime.

Between the soft Christmas glow of the illustrations and the smooth rhythm of the child’s prayer, A Christmas Prayer will make every parent and child want to snuggle up by the tree and offer a prayer of thanks to God for His many Christmas blessings.

I love the way Amy draws in all the important people from that Christmas day through the innocently simple 'Thank you' prayer of the little girl.

As the little child ends her prayer recognizing that Christmas is more than the toys and gifts she gets and all about the best gift of all Jesus, she leaves in the reader's mind a picture of the first Christmas scene....a beautiful reminder of the reason why we truly celebrate the season.

Marlijan Ramljak's sweet illustration of the child with her disheveled short hair brought back memories of Bunny girl's second Christmas at home and the image of her kissing the baby Jesus doll in the cradle.

This soft padded board book will make a special Christmas present or pre Christmas gift for young listeners/readers.

* I have reviewed this book as a member of Thomas Nelson's Book Review Blogger Program *

Buy it:

You can buy A Christmas Prayer for 9.99 US$

CLOSED: Save 500$ a year with Wahl's Color Pro! (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Over a year ago I gushed about the gorgeous Wahl Color Pro kit I'd received for review (Read the detailed review here.)....
and now a year later I have to admit that this hair cut kit has my husband spoiled!

He waits till every hair rebels out of their follicles and grow adamantly out of position and style.

He then looks at me with sad lovey eyes and asks..."Can you cut my hair this weekend?"
I retort with "Why don't you get it cut on your way back home from work?"
He waits and then gently replies with sugar in his tone....
"But you do a much better job of it" and alas he wins because deep down in my heart I know I don't do a great job at all....our Color Pro rightfully owns all credit because it rocks the hair-cutting alley big time!!

The Wahl Color Pro 25 pc Haircut Kit includes the multi cut clipper,

9 guide combs, a left ear taper comb and a right ear taper comb (each fit comfortably on the clipper's blade)

an eyebrow trim comb, a ear trim guide comb, styling combs, scissors, a cape, a neck duster and a few more mini hair cut aids.

Now anyone looking at Hubby's head of hair would say it's a piece of cake cutting his hair but honestly I beg to differ....that is, till we received our Color Pro kit.
I generally use the no. 2 comb to cut his hair, the ear tapers and the smallest guide comb to get rid of the extra hair below the hairline above his neck, at the back. (I have to add that I finally get rid of little bristles with the razor). In less than 15 minutes I have my husband looking dapper again.

We have had friends ask us where he gets his hair cut and ofcourse that always give us our 'Wahl Color Pro gush' opening!

{Check out the Product video here}

The kit is durable, easy to use, precise in cutting and here's the winning line...it saves 500$ a year....WOW!!

If your husband or son is game for a new look, watch these 'Haircut How To' videos to grab a few pointers and then get armed with your Wahl Clipper and give him that dashing makeover.

I recommend Wahl's Color Pro 25 pc Haircut Kit without any hesitation.
It's my 'handy dandy hair helper' for Hubby...and later Bunny Boo when he grows up.
Hubby's happy with the look and having his beloved wife (grin!) groom his hair while I love saving those extra buckaroos and giving the love of my life the look I love!...A perfect win-win Wahl-tuation!

Buy it:

You can buy the Wahl Color Pro 25 pc Haircut Kit for 37.95 US$ only. (+ get a 5$ cash back via mail after purchase.)

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win
the fabulous Wahl Color Pro 25 pc Haircut Kit

CLOSED: Protect your baby with Halo's comfort line (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

I'm sure you remember my review of Halo's SleepSack, right? Well William Schmid's brainchild has developed another innovative line called Halo Comforts.
The line was brought out keeping in mind babies and children with skin issues like eczema and to protect sensitive young skin from the blaring rays of the sun.

Now did you know that the American Academy of Pediatrics has found that more than half of all infants between 4 month and 15 months of age have sensitive skin or develop skin rashes? (That's no small population!)
Halo's Technical Comfort line thus strives to be a parent's aid in helping protecting their young ones.

HALO’s Technical Comfort System is more than just "cool” clothing for babies. Featuring coordinating pieces made of Coolmax, a breathable, high performance fabric that active parents have enjoyed themselves for years, the Technical Comfort System apparel keeps baby comfortable and skin healthy all year long.

HALO Technical Comfort Clothing:
  • Wicks moisture away from the skin twice as fast as cotton
  • Regulates baby's temperature to protect their delicate skin
  • Has a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 without any added chemicals to help protect babies’ skin from the sun, too!

Thankfully Bunny Boo is rash free but he does get exposed to the early morning sun (which is not that bad) and the mid morning rays (which are at its peak!) when we go drop and later pick Bunny girl from school.
Why should we have regrets for not taking the proactive steps required to safeguard our young ones?
It's always best to protect a baby's skin sooner than later.....
and Halo's Comfort Line has been developed to step up to Momma and Dada's plate as your 'sooner' aid!

Buy it:

You can buy the Halo Technical Comfort System Two Piece set for 22.95 US$ and a Technical Comfort System Hat for 7.95 US$
