Call me snobbish but I love to try and dress Bunny girl and Bunny Boo in clothes that have personality and stand out...in a good way ofcourse! That's why I fell in love with the cute applique shirts New York City's Liliputians boutique creates.

Heather Flottmann is the designer and owner of Liliputians and has birthed her collections after being inspired by her little girl. There's literally something for everybody! (And what's neat is you can even personalize some of the creations.)

Now my Bunny girl loves all things ballet and even though she doesn't go to ballet classes, she loves to pirouette around our home with her little ballerina outfit that comes complete with a tutu and cute little play shoes. While looking through the Liliputians applique line I found a shirt that reflects something she loves!....

We ordered her shirt in black, with short sleeves and personalized it with just her initials (I don't think it's wise to have your child's name on a shirt especially when they go off to school or out in public. It's just not safe!) The work on the shirt is beautiful. The light pink ribbons add such a delicate touch and the pink ruffled ends on the shirt and sleeves give it a mini tutu effect.

Liliputian's highlight are their birthday shirts, accessories, toys, games, plates, hats and more but as Heather says, "you will find lots on goodies for unbirthdays too"!

Buy it:

You can buy the Personalized Ballet Name shirt for 39.95 US$.

CLOSED: The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About Things(+BTS Giveaway #22)

Bunny girl is crazy about Dr Seuss, thanks to my sister introducing her the world of rhymes, Thing 1 and Thing 2, Green Eggs, The Cat in the Hat and more Seuss-citement! She was naturally thrilled to tear open the package to find herself staring at this.....

The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About Things dvd!

This is a great dvd from the educational stand point as it challenges a child to expand his/her vocabulary (Thanks to the Cat's continuous rhyming) and teaches him/her interesting facts in a fun, oblivious way.
For instance, the first episode teaches the young viewer how bees make honey.

I also love the way the Cat insists the kids ask their parents permission before they go off on their adventures and how he always insists they buckle up before setting off.

The five episodes featured are
  • Show Me The Honey
  • Migration Vacation
  • I Love The Nightlife
  • Oh Give Me A Home!
  • Many Ants Make Light Work

This September 7 2010 release from NCircle Entertainment has an approximate run time of 60 minutes and also includes additional bonus features - Fish facts, Hat Chat, Thing Things and Songs.

I hope this won't be the last Cat In The Hat release as I personally think preschoolers, kindergartners and first graders will love to spend time with the Cat learning more about the world they live in.

Buy it:

You can buy The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About Things dvd for a reduced price of 11.99 US$

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About Things dvd

CLOSED:Promoting healthy foot development- Tsukihoshi Shoes (+BTS Giveaway #21)

This post is a 'Back To School 2010 Carnival' feature on Energizer Bunny's Mommy Reports.

The Carnival runs from August 15-August 28 2010. For a list of all the live giveaways visit 'The BTS 2010 Stop!'

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Tsukihoshi shoes are not just regular outdoor play shoes. They're Japanese manufactured shoes exclusively created for the "health and comfort of children's feet". Their shoes have even been awarded the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance for promoting healthy foot development.

The Pink Tsukihoshi Child 05 shoes Bunny girl was sent looked like sports shoes I'd buy from the sports store. It was only after reading up about the brand that I realized I held a well researched and carefully designed product that was made to cradle my little one's feet in a comfortable space as she wore the same.

I'm still amazed that the manufacturers of her shoes have actually gone to the lengths of ensuring her shoes are quatro-functional. All Tsukihoshi shoes have

1. Balanced landing
Children's feet may tend to over-pronate (land on the arch side) when walking. As a result, children need more stability in their shoes. Tsukihoshi's solid half sock board and a solid heel counter help to provide this stability in the heel area.

2. Arch Support
Like many parts of a child's foot, the arch of a child's foot is not yet fully formed. Tsukihoshi's ''Molded Cup Insole'' is designed for children's arches while helping to neutralize foot odor

3. Light and Flexible
Children's feet can not bend and kick forward well because they are not yet fully developed. Tsukihoshi's latest innovation, a "Flex-Joint Outsole" helps to allow children's feet to bend along the line from the joint of the big toe to that of the little toe.

4. Barefoot-like Comfort
Excessive inward tilting towards the arches when walking and running is very common among children. Tsukihoshi's ''Comfortable Shoe Last'' provides space in the toe area to help keep the child's toe in an unrestricted position, allowing them to splay on contact with the ground.

The shoes are easy for Bunny girl to put on and take off especially when she wears them to preschool, thanks to the 'wide and curved velcro fastener.' (During play time she loves playing dress up with her friends. They get to wear different costume shoes and being able to get her shoes of easily helps avoid the struggle of getting them off and on.)

Two features that make my Mommy heart smile are the fact these are machine washable (high points on my Mommy list!) and that the shoes have an anti-bacterial insole. (Can you believe that??The cup insole is coated with green tea polyphenol...Wow! Wish our shoes had these!!)

Hubby loves the fact that the soles are flexible. (In his list this is a big determinant on whether the shoes get approved by him or not. Hubby says a child's shoe should have a flexible sole especially as their feet are tender and still developing. This helps in nurturing a healthy foot growth.)

I think Tsukihoshi shoes are beautifully designed and functionally superior. I honestly hope they extend their presence in more stores around us and seriously consider pricing the shoes at a more competitive rate to trigger a sales growth with the common man market base.

Buy it:

You can buy a pair of Pink Tsukihoshi Child 05 shoes for anywhere between 52 US$ - 56 US$ in a store close to you or online.

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win one pair of Tsukihoshi shoes (winner's choice)

You know I love Carolina Pad (my posts scream that out!) and to be able to review more goodies from the Studio C Collection was nothing short of a treat!

The sub-collections reviewed this time around were:

Product wise my favorites by far were the binder and the journal. The binder will be used to file Bunny girl's Pre K take home activity sheets and the journal is like my little black book that houses all my important resources like birth dates et al. (I prefer using my planner as my reminder bank than to schedule daily activities!)

Design wise I love the Dreamsicle collection.
Honestly, how could one not love those happy colored butterflies, flowers, stripes and cherries?

All the sub segments in the Studio C collection reflect youthfulness, zest and that sassy factor which, I'm sure, will draw your child to own each product with pride.

Carolina Pad's success recipe lies within the passion, research and attention to detail that has been put into each product in the collection. Their collections rock!

Trust Carolina Pad to help your child stand out at school with their 'happening' Studio C Collection.

You can buy Carolina Pad products in these stores at these prices:

Infantino's Firefly Soother(Review Only)

To be honest, I've not been big on crib mobiles, crib toys or crib attachments only because I've always felt they can always fall on a baby and most of the ones I've seen have just not passed the 'Not Flimsy for Mommy' test, so when Mom Central dropped a note to let me know I was among a few moms chosen to review the Firefly Soother, I had my doubts.

When the package arrived and I opened it up I was, to be truthful, more than just a little excited. The cute little fireflies, the red frog and the smiley caterpillar captured in a 'bottle' is such a sweet idea.....Boy, was I eager to see how this new ' Soother cum Night Light' would work but first I needed to put the product up!

The Infantino team have obviously done their research well as the Firefly Soother is held up with straps that firmly clasps with a buckle and can only be opened if the tiny button like protrusion on the buckle is pushed down.

Now in my 'Mommy list that definitely passes the 'safe to be used on my little one's bed' test!

The Firefly Soother can play 1 of 2 melodic, soothing lullabies or what I call 'nightlife' sounds with birds chirping and crickets singing. The lullabies are honestly very relaxing and nearly put Hubby to sleep (!) but the nightlife kept my little one wide awake. (Munchkin must've thought there were birds somewhere around!)

I also like the option of the nightlight feature where the little fireflies colorfully light up alternatively to provide a constant dull lighting.

I would've perhaps liked the lighting to be a little brighter as both my kids have no issues about sleeping with the lights on once they're deep into slumber-land. (I prefer having the area around Bunny Boo sufficiently lit especially since he's still so little.)

The Firefly Soother is a product that will serve both your infant and your toddler, providing comfort with the lullabies and an assurance with the night light feature.

Buy it:

You can buy the Infantino Firefly Soother from Step 2 for 39.99 US$ or from Target for 36.99 US$

Starting the school year can be a time of great excitement... and anxiety. Here are some great
tips from the Super WHY literacy experts to help get your child ready for the big day while
practicing important early reading skills:
  • Visit the library or bookstore: Find books that start a dialogue about school to help get young children feeling comfortable and confident about new experience. Read the books together and identify key words.
  • Practice going to school: Point out places that are familiar to your child on the way to school and encourage them to read or find letters on the signs as you pass – even their school sign!
  • Tool up: While shopping for school supplies, read the list out loud and have kids spell out words like: pencil or paper.
  • Create a cozy study space with your child: Before the school year even starts, set up an area together that is comfortable and quiet. This can also be a place to spend quality time reading

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win

Finally.....100% Natural Moon Dough for kids (Review Only)

This post is a 'Back To School 2010 Carnival' feature on Energizer Bunny's Mommy Reports.
The Carnival runs from August 15-August 28 2010.
For a list of all the live giveaways visit 'The BTS 2010 Stop!'

I've never been a fan of play dough. I've always avoided allowing Bunny girl playing with store bought dough only because I've always felt it was unsafe. Thankfully at school, different moms help make dough at home for the kids to play with in class....Thank God no store bought dough...ugh!

It was only with Team Mom's recent campaign buzz that I learnt of a 100% natural, wheat free, hypoallergenic dough...Moon Dough. This neat new molding compound never dries out, is light, feels like thermocol and best of all does not stain when plastered on your child's clothes or even on the carpet. (Trust me I know what I'm saying. Bunny girl had dough on her clothes and on our carpet and it came off easily.)

We....well I mean Bunny girl, had the opportunity to try out the Moon Dough Barn ...

a cute little playset that came with three Moon Dough colors.

All Bunny girl had to do was put some dough in the mold on top of the barn, turn the lever and....

Voila! Out rolled a barn yard animal.

We had blue, white and yellow sheep, cows and chicken.

She even made little fences and bales or hay, using the separate molds provided for the same.

Watch this video to see Moon Dough in action!

My little barnyard owner had a blast last weekend playing with this all morning. After a while Hubby joined her at her little table. I'm still not sure who had more fun churning out the Moon Dough animals!

I recommend the Moon Dough without any qualms.
The only little thing I didn't really like about the dough was the way it smelt but then I'm willing to put up with anything as long as I know it's safe and 100% non toxic to my child.

* Moon Dough Demos will be held throughout the Nation on August 28, 2010. Check to see if there will be one close to you. *
