CLOSED: Little One Books....The Right Choice! (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

You've been invited for a birthday party. The little girl who will be turning 4 is crazy about books. You have a 1 year old and have no clue what to buy this child. What do you do?

Does this sound familiar?
All of us on some occasion or the other have been lost when it has come to picking up the right book, cd or dvd for a baby or a child between the ages of 1 to 5.

Barney Cohen and Joan McCoy tapped into this need and formed Little One Books to help parents and 'gift givers' around the nation choose from 'time tested' media for infants and children. Media that is not just entertaining but also educational.

Little One Books is different. It's not an online store that is crammed with all the books, cds and dvds in the market for kids. No Siree! Each book, cd or dvd featured in each of the age categories have been specifically hand picked and reviewed by Barney, Joan or one of their trustworthy contributors.

Bunny girl loves being read books of every size and length, enjoys tapping her feet to music and finds joy in watching anything that is educational and fun on tv. Keeping her tastes in mind, I did explore the 4 year old category and found several books, cds and videos I know she'd love. (The reviewers/contributors did a great job in choosing right!)

We finally picked a book on one of her favorite characters- Curious George and what a treat it was to find a 'Special Collector's Edition' of The Complete Adventures of Curious George

The book is perfect for a 4 year who is intrigued with anything and everything (just like George) and the collection of 7 stories is perfect to engage the little 'listener'.
Her favorite story was how George met the Man with the Yellow Hat. I, on the other hand, loved the way the alphabet is introduced to the young child, in a manner that is both creative and fun!

Bunny girl is yet to learn to read on her own but this has not stopped her from dragging this big book off the coffee table and flipping through the pages whenever she takes a break from playing.

The Complete Adventures of Curious George is a great pick for 4 year olds and Abby Walker has captured the essence of the book aptly with her review of the same.

I know there are tons of sites out there with collections for infants and kids but I would encourage you to take a few minutes out to explore Little One Books especially if you have little ones at home (or need to get a gift for that little one you know!).
This site is a great resource especially if you want to pick up a book, cd or dvd that will be enjoyed, loved and treasured for a good long while.

CLOSED: The Baby Bunch now sells 'Crayons'!! (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

First we had eggs and then the cupcakes. Hasn't The Baby Bunch wow-ed us enough already?
Apparently not!
With the kids going back to school next month, they thought they'd sell us some 'Crayons' now!

Take a look at this super-size box of 'Crayons'...

Now this I like!

Available in three gender neutral colors (red, green and orange), these organic cotton rompers have been sized to fit any 3-6 month old.

Bunny Boo wears his organic onesies regularly and I can tell they're comfortable. Without any hesitation I can vouch that these rompers will be worn with the same comfort. I love the soft cotton feel that's especially great for his tender skin during this awfully hot summer period.

So there you have it. Creativity reigns once again in The Baby Bunch camp!

School starts soon...don't forget the 'crayons' for baby too!

Buy it:

You can buy a box of three Organic Crayon Rompers for 24.95 US$ (+shipping)

* Free shipping for all orders 50 US$ and above, when you enter the code SUMMER, during checkout *

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win a box of three Organic Crayon Rompers

Pop On Pals...Endless Possibilities (Review Only)

What would a toddler want to play with?
Something with music?
Something with lights?
Something colorful? ...
Oh and something that won't crack or break into pieces after a few Wham-Wham-Wham's on the floor.
Perhaps something like Magic Ladder's (by Spin Master) latest entrant into the toy market...Pop On Pals

Pop On Pals have been made keeping our 2, 3 and 4 year olds in mind. The little figures can be held easily by little hands, can withstand several 'drops' to the floor and are happy and colorful in appeal.

If you pick up an Amusement Park set as the one pictured below your little one will find that there's much more to explore.

Pop On Pals have been designed to encourage
  • Imagination and Creative Role Playing
  • Object Recognition and Vocabulary Building
  • Category Sorting and
  • Development of Palmar Arches
Thanks to Team Mom and Spin Master, we were sent one of these sets to review.

The set is great to help 2 year olds identify different colors and have fun getting the little figure up and down the roller coaster, onto the dragon swing and on a little ferris wheel ride, while listening to music (that gets activated after giving the swing a little push), exploring the sounds and enjoying the 'light ups'.

Unfortunately the set only comes with one little figure and though you can change shirts with the slip on rings, I do feel this is a figure short for the 3-4 year olds especially if they're into imaginative play. (Like my Bunny girl)

My Bunny girl would definitely prefer to think up a fun story with 2 or more friends especially since the little dragon swing set has a space for 2 little figures to sit in the same and the ferris wheel has space for 3. (Besides they always say "The More The Merrier"...especially if you plan to go visit an amusement park!)

If your little one is like mine, then my solution to this would be to pick up a 2 in 1 Mix and Match Fun Pal Pack (Check out the Toys tab) when you do buy the Amusement Park set and allow your little one to dive into that 'World on Endless Popabilities' with his/her Pop On Pals

Buy it:

You can buy the Pop On Pals Amusement Park set on Amazon.com for 34.99 US$ or in these stores (Click on the 'Buy' tab).

CLOSED: Carolina Pad's Studio C = Cool ! (+ Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Carolina Pad has it nailed with their slogan 'Everyday products. Extraordinary Designs' because, to put it simply, their products are just that...extraordinary especially when you compare them to other school products. I fell in love with their products the first time I set eyes on them (read more about that here) and since then the only notepads, books or planners you will see me carrying are Carolina Pad's.

The collections vary in spunk, vibrancy and personality. I'm sure if you asked your high school daughter or college going son to pick out some of their folders, books or planners, I'm sure you'd see them pick out designs that equal their personality.

The latest addition to the mainline collections is the Studio C collection

This includes the following sub-collections:
  • Rock-on
  • Graffiti
  • Rising Sun
  • Peace Out
  • Free Spirit
  • Eye Candy and
  • Mo' Rockin

I received a pack that held a product from each of these collections. I'm one for florals and anything in blue and green hues so the Free Spirit Binder and the Rising Sun Book were my top favorites in terms of design.

But from the 'what works best for me work-wise' angle I'd go with the weekly/monthly Mo' Rockin Planner. My sister and I love this planner but since she has a lot of scheduling to do with regards to her profession we agreed she'd benefit by the same more. (I know she did a little happy dance when she officially gained its ownership!)

The prices are extremely affordable considering the quality, design and 'snazzy' appeal each product holds, so don't think twice! The Studio C collection is only available in Walmart and I'd say go pick up your 'loot' before the 'Back To School' mad rush hits the stores.

Buy it:

You can buy Carolina Pad products in these stores at these prices:
  • 1 subject notebook: 2.50 US$
  • 18 month planner: 4.00 US$
  • 2 pkt folder(3pack) : 2.50 US$
  • 1" Binder: 2.50 US$
  • Composition Book : 2.50 US$
  • Ideal Book: 2.50 US$
  • Pens: 2.50 US$
  • Pencils :2.50 US$

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win
a collection of products from the Studio C Collections.

* NOTE: If you have won a prize from Carolina Pad in the last 90 days, you will not be eligible to win this package*

Here's how you can win it:

1. Mandatory entry (without this, all other entries will be disqualified)-

CLOSED: Wall Praise- Removable Christian Art for your home (+Giveaway)

* Click here to view the name(s) of the winner(s)*

Josh and Naomi Lohmann had a vision to see God's Word displayed beautifully in homes without a struggle. Wall Praise was thus birthed with its removable vinyl lettering solution to help you put up Christian art AND take it off whenever you desired..... without a snag and without all those additional buckaroos!

I've always desired to have Psalm 127:3 in Bunny girl and Bunny Boo's play room. It's one of one my favorite verses equal in running to Joshua 24:15 (As for me and my house we will serve the Lord) and Naomi was kind enough to design one especially for my extra special 'Gifts'!

The verse came in 3 layers
  1. Top layer- Application tape
  2. Middle layer- The vinyl lettering
  3. Bottom layer- Backing paper
The trick to getting this done right is to do it slowly and when you aren't rushing to get something else done a few minutes later.

Watch this video to see how you need to work on getting your wall praise up successfully.

Thankfully my sister volunteered to put the verse up while I just watched as she patiently worked on getting it on the wall.

The verse was quite large so she did cut the verse in the middle to make applying the same on the wall easier.

Bunny girl was an eager beaver and wanted to help with everything but finally decided she'd stick to handing up each 'painted hand'.

Note: To make sure the lettering sticks onto the wall minus any tiny bubbles under the vinyl, it is important to use the 'application tool' that comes with your 'wall praise'.

In less than an hour our wall praise was up.
Isn't it gorgeous?

I love it!
The room is so colorful and now this beautiful verse splashes a touch of color on the walls too and I think it's such a special confession over my 2 precious gifts from Him.

Oh and you know what Hubby loves the most about this?
The fact that the entire art can be easily removed without staining or damaging the walls and it won't cost a penny to do the same.

Now isn't this a great way to 'Share Your Feelings and Express Your Faith'?

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win a
wall praise of choice. (Must be valued within 70 US$)

Here's how you can win it:

1. Mandatory entry (without this, all other entries will be disqualified)-

Visit the Wall Praise site and tell me which wall praise you'd love to win. (Must be valued within 70 US$)

Anything but Shabby!...Shabby Apple (Review + Reader's Discount only)

Ladies what's on that list?
Dresses? Accessories? Shoes? Bags? Jewelry?

Shabby Apple has it all!

Comfortable, wearable, stylish and chic are adjectives that would describe the collections carried under the Shabby Apple boutique.

Sure I thought the dresses for women and preteens were pretty but the dresses for little girls did a little 'look at me' dance when I browsed through that segment.

I thought the Gumball dress by Addi and Kinsi, in particular, stood out. Its bright bold colors and vibrant happy look perfectly reflects my Bunny girl's personality.

This cotton dress is comfortable and has a nice 'summer-y' appeal to it. The smocked work, puffy sleeves and empire waist adds to the 'pretty' factor

and it just makes me smile when I see my little sunshine in it!

So the next time someone says Shabby Apple, remember you won't find anything shabby here!

Buy it:

You can buy the Gumball dress for 37 US$

* By buying this dress you will help change the lives of women around the world. Shabby Apple shares a percentage of its profits with Unitus. *

Special Reader's Discount:

Shabby Apple is offering 20% off on most items (excludes Manhattan, Skyscraper, Bridesmaid and Accessories) when you use the discount code Summer 20 (Can't be combined with other offers)
