CLOSED: Baby Bounty Bash - Safety 1st Deluxe Play Yard (+Giveaway)

Safety 1st has always been a company that has its name associated to quality baby products, reliable baby must-haves and trustworthy baby gear.

When I opted to review the Safety 1st Deluxe Play Yard I was initially apprehensive about the ease in setting up the same as this is our 1st Play Yard and both Hubby and I have no experience whatsoever in putting the set together.......

But we were pleasantly surprised. The instructions provided are not only easy to follow but precise in direction. In less than 15 minutes we had Bunny Boo's Safety 1st Deluxe Play Yard set up and ready for use.

This 40" long, 29.3"wide, 34.5" high Deluxe Play Yard is sturdy and multifunctional.

It can be used as a 'play pen' for your little one once he/she is ready to sit up without support

or the same can be converted, with a few adjustments,

into a baby bassinet.

*The padded thin mattress is to be used both for the bassinet and the 'play pen'*

The Deluxe Play Yard comes with an add on feature of a mini baby changing station, complete with a protective harness to prevent baby from potentially rolling over.

I had a slight concern about the sturdiness of the bassinet and the changing station but after testing out the same with a few yanks and pressure applications we realized the clips and velcro-ed in sides held both the bassinet and changing station respectively, firmly in place.

Hubby liked the meshed side windows and the ability to roll up the sheets to allow cross ventilation and airing. I know rolling down the 'mini curtains' would allow Bunny Boo to sleep more soundly but personally we feel his safety and the importance of cross ventilation is of utmost importance to avoid air suffocation pockets.

One side of the Deluxe Play Yard even has a large pocket that could be used to store diapers, wipes and perhaps wipe-cloths and an extra change of clothes.

The Deluxe Play Yard can be moved from one room to the other but has wheels affixed only on one side. This means picking up the other side to facilitate movement. I know several people have complained that the heaviness of the Deluxe Play Yard prevents easy transportation from one spot to the other but I would any day prefer a little lugging than easy transportation to another spot. A light weight Yard would not rate highly in my maternal rankings as I'd immediately associate lightness in weight to flimsiness and instability of my baby's sleep/play area and to me that's a big Red Alert!

Overall we're very satisfied with the Safety 1st Deluxe Play Yard and so far do not have any issues with the same. I also think that it has been priced just right...atleast right now.

(I only hope Bunny Boo won't mind the pretty pink tinge in the design!)

I guess we'd only know functional setbacks after consistent use after Bunny Boo's arrival...but I will keep you posted on that.

Till Bunny Boo makes his awaited appearance in the Play Yard, big sister Bunny girl has already found some willing volunteers to make the area comfortable before her baby brother arrives!

There's so much excitement when you're getting ready to have your baby in a new country. We had Bunny girl back home, where most people visit the baby in the hospital after his/her birth and bring presents for the little one. In my heart I always wished we'd had a baby shower for Bunny girl. I'd read so much about baby showers and thought they were so much fun. I am thus so excited with having my main baby shower hosted by the awesome women in my church this coming weekend.

I've read that no baby shower is complete without a Diaper Cake (And being a novice to baby showers I initially thought this was an edible cake fashioned to look like a diaper!)....
And today I will tell any baby shower hostess that no baby shower is ever complete without a Rattlecake Diaper Cake!

Young Mommy cum Creative Designer cum Extremely Talented Founder Michelle honestly brings it all to the table when it comes to diaper cakes.

Uniqueness, style, quality, detailing and most importantly hygiene are all trademarks of Rattlecake Diaper Cakes. To Michelle 'customer satisfaction' is passe, rather 'customer delight' is the norm for each order she works on.

Her creative bestsellers include the 4 tier Girlie Garden Diaper Cake

Click on the picture to read more details about the cake

and the 4 tier Lime & Brown Monkey Diaper Cake.
Click on the picture to read more details about the cake

But to me nothing will ever compare to the custom made Bunny Boo diaper cake she made for me.

I love how Michelle took the pains to make even the packaging fun and exciting.
I felt like a little girl opening up a birthday present and finding a 'surprise' inside!
(Sorry can't let the cat out of the bag. Michelle said it's a special surprise that every customer receives so I don't want to be a party pooper. You will just have to order a diaper cake to find out what it is!!)

She even made sure the cake was addressed to my tiny recipient.

Are you ready to see the classic one of a kind 'Bunny Boo' masterpiece?.....

Hold your breath now........

TA-DAH!!!

Here's our gorgeous 3 tiered Bunny Diaper Cake to celebrate Bunny Boo's nearing arrival!

Just one look at the cake and you can tell that Michelle does not scrounge when it comes to using the best products in the market for her cakes.

Bunny Boo's diaper cake is made with 90 Pampers Swaddlers (Size 1)

And comes with a host of practical and essential baby goodies that include:
  • 2 Avent pacifiers (3-6mos)
  • Safety 1st comb and brush
  • Safety 1st nail clippers
  • Johnson's baby shampoo (I love that she too recognizes that Johnson's is tops when it comes to baby products!)
  • Johnson's baby lotion
  • Johnson's baby wash
  • Johnson's baby powder
and

Three adorable Sleepyhead Bunny products (They're simply adorable!):
  • A Cuddly Blue Bunny
  • Blue Bunny Cozy and
  • A Blue Bunny clip.
I don't think I will ever have the heart to pull this precious gift apart. I left the cake in the cellophane wrapping and intend to put it on display at the baby shower this weekend.

I know Hubby and I will never forget this diaper cake ever...thanks to Michelle.

Rattlecake's diaper cakes will not only make any expectant parents day sunnier but will also be a gift that will be treasured in memory for years to follow.

Sounds crazy but it's true...Bunny girl never crawled like all babies are expected to. She stood up with support at 7 months and from then on tried to move around holding things. I keep wondering if Bunny Boo will follow his big sister's footsteps or stick to the conventional route!

Whatever he decides to do, Lil' Melon has ensured his knees will stay safe, ungrazed and protected, thanks to their signature Baby Knee Pads.

I'm amazed with the products available in the market nowadays. I'm sure my great grandmother would've seen stars! When I was growing up when you said knee pads, one would immediately think of safety gear for skate boarders and a kid on a bicycle but today even a baby's knees are covered!

Bunny Boo was sent the cute little giraffe knee pads that are light weight padded but thick for protection and has silicone debossed prints for traction. The back of the pads are open to allow ventilation and the overall fabric is fashioned to work like a sock-stretchable, comfortable during movement and easy to put on and take off.

These are available in sizes for 7 month old babies to 14 month olds.

Buy it:

You can buy
a pair of Baby Knee Pads for a price of 14.95 US$ to 16.95 US$. (+shipping)

Lil' Melon also carries a pack of 10 reusable 100% cotton baby wipe cloths. These measure 35cm x 35 cm, are lightweight and convenient to carry along.

I have to confess that these alphabet print cloths are a little firm in texture even though I have washed them once, but I understand they do become softer after several washes.

Buy it:

You can buy
a pack of 10 reusable 100% cotton baby wipe cloths for a price of 12.95 US$. (You can avail of free shipping if you buy a pack of wipes with another Lil' Melon product purchase)

Lil' Melon is also associated with its sister custom woven name label business called All Things Labels.

All Things Labels supplies labels to one of the largest companies in the fashion and garment industry...now that speaks highly of their quality!

I opted to make Bunny Boo's first set of name labels and decided I'd go 'all boy' with his name printed on light green and blue pastel labels with a soccer logo design on each.

The pack of 100 labels consisted of high density custom damask woven labels that can be easily ironed onto fabric, if you aren't one of those 'I prefer to sew my labels on' kind of people. You can also stick the labels onto non fabric surfaces.

The labels do feel textured so it may be best not to iron them onto the back of onesies and baby tees. I'm yet to see if these softened out after a wash though.

These labels would make a great 'naming aid' on your baby's older sibling's belongings especially as a new school year will begin a few months from now!

Buy it:

You can buy a
Custom Name Label pack (100 pcs) for 29 US$. (+Shipping. Shipping is free for orders worth 75 US$ or more)

Win it:

One reader will have the opportunity to win
Custom Name Label pack of choice.

Coddlelife was birthed out of the desire of a mother of 3, to provide to the market, baby products that were not just safe for babies but also convenient and easy to use by parents.

Coddlelife focuses their attention mainly on feeding bottles and their accessories. Their latest product is the One piece Venting Technology baby feeding bottle .

This 8 oz. non toxic polypropylene bottle comes with a Stage 1 peristaltic nipple that mimics the momentum of breastfeeding for the infant.

A peristaltic nipple is one that stretches in response to the peristaltic movement of baby's tongue and that has a textured lip base to stimulate baby's senses. This also helps prevent nipple confusions.

Another highlight feature in the bottle is the one piece venting system to the bottle of the bottle through the 'slit'. This prevents colic, spit up and ear infection.

I didn't use feeding bottles a great deal with Bunny girl but I do know I'm glad that I won't have issues of gas build ups with Bunny Boo when I use this bottle and I do remember Bunny girl hated her bottle as it wasn't stretchable as this one is, so hopefully Bunny Boo will take to the bottle well!

You can buy
a Coddlelife One piece Venting Technology baby feeding bottle for 6.99 US$.
