Ingredients I used:
A pack of Keebler's Fudge Striped Cookies
A pack of Kraft's Caramel Vanilla Swirl Marshmallows. (You can use plain marshmallows, I just opted for these as they were on sale!)
A pack of Nestle Toll House's Milk Chocolate Chips (You can even use bars of milk chocolate)
Tube of Yellow Icing (In the hurry I picked up a tube of Yellow Icing Gel instead!)
A packet of small M&Ms.
Preparation:
1. Place the Striped Cookies chocolate face up on a tray
2. Melt the chocolate chips in your microwave oven or double boiler on the stove. (I did the latter)
3. Take a marshmallow at a time, dip in the melted chocolate (you can use 2 toothpicks to dip the marshmallow) and carefully move the chocolate coated marshmallow to the top of the cookie. Make sure you place each marshmallow in the center of each cookie. As usual when I needed the toothpicks I couldn't find a single one, so just used 2 plastic forks.
4. You can now place an M&M on each hat, positioned just where you plan to outline the buckle once the chocolate cools.
5. Pop the tray of hats into the fridge to cool and set
6. Just before you serve your Pilgrim Hats, draw a yellow frosting buckle (make sure you don't pick up gel else you will have very light yellow lines like mine!) around each M&M and
Voila, there you have it.....Pilgrim Hats!!
Cute hats! I bet you could use them for Lincoln's birthday too.
