Discovery Toys (Festive R&G)

Being educated through play is always a great way for kids to learn. Discovery Toys believes in just that and brings that foundation through their educational toys that 'teach, play and inspire'.

I had the opportunity to get in touch with one of Discovery Toys consultants- September- who offered to send Bunny girl 2 games to review. She not only suggested the 2 games but also told me why she thought they would be great for her age group...she took those extra steps to make sure we received a product that would be useful and fun for a 3 and a half year old....I know September didn't have to do that but that extra effort taken left me thinking this was a site I would definitely recommend to parents who need to buy educational toys for their kids and just don't know where to begin.

Bunny girl was sent Busy Farm and Playful Patterns- 2 products from the Discovery Toys preschool line.

In Busy Farm, the 36 little rubber animals segmented into 6 color groups were the first thing Bunny girl jumped to play with. The game comes with 24 activities that involve completing animal patterns, matching animals to their rightful dwelling places, identifying animals by the things they do, choosing the bigger/smaller animal and more. Personally I felt the activities were a little easy for Bunny girl as I prefer activities with a little more challenge but Bunny girl enjoyed the game...I guess that counts!

My favorite between the 2 games sent is definitely Playful Patterns. It's a game commonly referred to as 'preschool in a box'!

It involves patience and improves on your preschooler's motor skills. We all know how hard it gets for a little one's stubby fingers to sometimes organize patterns perfectly and this game helps improve that skill. You child can use his/her imagination to use different colors but the right foam shapes to complete the 36 different pattern cards.

Hubby is a therapist and when he came home and saw the game, he was thrilled and said they use it with their elderly patients as well to help strengthen their coordination skills and develop a steady hand. He vouched for the game as a great buy for preschoolers and Bunny girl had fun as it kept her occupied for a good period of time. So there you have it- Playful patterns is a great preschooler game-as affirmed by a Dad cum Therapist, a Mom who spends time teaching her preschooler and a Preschooler who loves creative games!

The neat thing about Discovery Toys is most of the games are parent-child games/activities. I love parent-child games as they encourage family time, strengthen bonds and your child has fun learning while playing.
