Ok...now I'm not a big water drinker! I think the only time I really downed a good number of glasses of water each day was when I was pregnant with Bunny girl and later while nursing her. Right now I'm anything but your water drinking model! Here are some 'must know' facts about a PUR Flavor Options Pitcher:
- It has a 2 stage water filtration system that reduces 2 times more contaminants than other brands
- It is the first and only filter for tap water that lets you add a touch of sugar free, calorie free fruit flavoring to your glass of water.
- A PUR filter is said to reduce upto 98% of the lead content in tap water, 99.9% of microbial cysts and 99% of pharmaceuticals
We generally fill our 5 gallon water holder with sweet water as the tap water in our apartment has always tasted slightly saline and chlorine streaked but with the new PUR Flavor Options Pitcher I was game to see if there would be any difference.
The Experiment...
At this point, you can decide if you'd like to have an unflavored glass of water or a glass of flavored water. PUR flavoring options include lemon, raspberry (we received both flavorings and I really liked the raspberry flavoring. If you chill your water it will make a yummy refreshment after a sweaty day outdoors....even though it's actually just water!!), grape, strawberry and peach. (I think this would taste great too!)To opt for flavored water all you need to do is press the flavor button and pour out your glass of water!.... Ta-dah!!
The Verdict....
I have to admit the water did taste much better filtered through the PUR pitcher. A miniscule taste of saline was there but nothing that bothered me as before. If you add flavoring to your water, you won't even realize that you're actually drinking a glass of filtered tap water! So I guess this means I will be drinking more water now!!
Oh and I have to mention that the pitcher is a great size to fit conveniently into any fridge and can hold upto seven 8 oz glasses of water.

hehe. I learned a silly joke, among other things! Check out the "Water Talks" section, it's amusing AND informative. Here's the joke: Why is T like an island? Because it's in the middle of water. Yeah, I know. But my five year old will love it!!
ReplyDeleteI also learned that our area has a fairly high lead content in the water (although still within the safety levels, apparantly) along with some higher levels of other chemicals I don't recognize.
PUR faucet-mount filters remove 99% of residual pharmaceutical compounds from water and 96% with pitchers.

Groundwater systems tend to be less polluted. I must admit. I would love this for my well water!
ReplyDeleteI learned that your water can taste different as the seasons change, because of the algae growth in lakes and reservoirs...and, a PUR filter can help keep your water tasting clean and fresh!
ReplyDeleteWe recently moved, but experienced a PUR faucet mount filter in our old home and it was amazing! The tap water was nasty (full of iron), but with the PUR filter, I couldn't tell and the water was great!!
The water at our new home seems fine, but I wouldn't mind the PUR pitcher, as I drink water all of the time and would especially love the flavor options!

WOW!! I need a water filter! While on the PUR website I saw a link to see how clean (or NOT clean) my cities water is. So I clicked... My area has a moderate amount of bacteria, HIGH copper, HIGH Arsenic and Nitrate. That's a little alarming. I think we need to filter. Thanks for this giveaway... I think?
