CLOSED: Lets Get Ready to Learn Books- Review and Giveaway (BTSC- Day 13)

The winner for the giveaway has been chosen by Random.org and is announced on this post.

Kindergarten. A big step for most preschoolers. Big kid school, big kid class and no more naps! What will I do in Kindergarten? What will I learn? ....all concerns a little mind will have but now there's a fun way to prepare your little one for their next big milestone-Kindergarten.

Thanks to Stacey Kannenberg, the founder of Cedar Valley Publishing, 'Lets Get Ready to Learn' was developed to help equip your children gradually but confidently gel into their new routines in school. A successful woman in her own right, Stacey is an authority in the education field. She has several accolades to her name, all proving the solid substance her books are made up of.

Lets Get Ready for Kindergarten is a favorite with Bunny girl, so much so that I had to hide the book for a while as it would make its appearance a little too often. (I didn't mind doing a few activities each time the book was brought out but Bunny girl would insist we go through the entire book in one sitting!)

The book opens with a list of skills a child ready for Kindergarten would need- a great aid to ensure your child reaches his/her milestone childhood skills by the time he/she starts Kindergarten.

Your little Kindergarten go-er (or soon to be) will then be introduced to the guide for the book- Mrs Good, the Kindergarten teacher and the Cedar Valley Kids, before he/she learns, attempts and practices the various educational activities the book holds. Children will be taught the alphabet, colors, shapes, numbers, opposites, the time and more.

Lets Get Ready for Kindergarten ends with a list of Parent and Care-giver tips. The list is detailed yet concise and you can tell each tip comes from the wisdom of an experienced mother who has kids who have gone through kindergarten.

This book is also available as a bi-lingual edition. (Spanish-English)

Let Get Ready for First Grade follows a similar introduction as the first book but in the First Grade your child's teacher is Ms. Best and an older group of Cedar Valley kids feature as her students.

In this book, your first grader (or soon to be) will learn about vowels, consonants, word families, geometric shapes, food groups, addition, ordinals and more. Here again the book ends with a list of great Parent-Caregiver tips.

What I love about the books
:
  • The books are strong and each laminated page can be used by your child as a worksheet, with erasable markers
  • Though each book holds 32 pages, you can be assured you are getting 32 pages filled with solid content!
  • These books can be great for long trips as they can entertain(yet educate) a child for sufficiently long periods of time
  • Each book has been scrutinized by experts and awarded the Adding Wisdom award, thereby only adding further strength to each book's substance.
  • 10% of profits from the sales of each book, is donated to literacy programs.

Buy it:

Lets Get Ready for Kindergarten costs 15 US$ while Lets Get Ready for First Grade and the Bi Lingual edition of Lets Get Ready for Kindergarten cost 17 US$ each. You can order the books off this link.

Win it:

One reader (anywhere in the world) will get a copy of Lets Get Ready for Kindergarten (English or Bi-Lingual) and Let Get Ready for First Grade
