Where there is a will.

Any guesses as to what Bunny girl was doing here?

This picture was taken during one of the VBS (Vacation Bible School) art sessions. The previous day the children did a 'Belt of Truth' craft with glitter and stickers. By the end of the day, I understand the craft room looked as if a Glitter Tornado had hit it. The wise Craft instructor decided there would be no more glitter used for any of the later crafts.

The next day, the news was broken to the class of Preschoolers. Needless to say, they were disappointed. The craft for that day was 'The Breastplate of Righteousness'. While doing the craft Bunny girl asked me for some glitter (I guess she thought Mama could somehow worm a bit out of the Instructor. After all in a child's eyes Mamas are supposed to be able to do anything!!) and I replied they weren't giving the children any glitter as it was too messy. Bunny girl was quiet and went back to coloring her craft.

A few minutes later I saw her crouching down under the table. She'd discovered a nice puddle of glitter literally embedded into the carpet from the previous day and guess what she was doing? She was meticulously picking up little grains of glitter, placing it on top of her crayon and then coloring portions of her 'breastplate'. She did this till the end of the session and even though it meant she had to really work to get that glitter on, she managed to get what she wanted....glitter on the breastplate!

Watching her do this little activity made me realize that it sometimes it takes a child to teach you to look above a situation. That day Bunny girl modeled out the age old saying " Where there is a will, there is a way!"
